Comments Thread For: Marcos Maidana's Run at 154 Depends on The Options

As previously reported, Marcos Maidana may enter the junior middleweight division upon his return in 2016.

Maidana, who captured world titles at junior welterweight and welterweight, is considering the idea of moving up in weight to pursue history. In winning a world title at 154-pounds, Maidana would become the first boxer in the history of Argentina to capture major belts in three weight divisions.

I like Maidana but he loses to both Lara and Charlo. Maybe he can win the vacant WBO.

Big fan of Chino and love his balls to the wall style but a move to 54 likely takes the steam off of his all action approach. He'll have to be matched carefully to be successful but it's not impossible.

Smart for Maidana to come in at 154 instead of trying to cut to 147. He will need a couple of tune-ups. I think Charlo beats him no matter what but i think Maidana has a chance against Lara if hs tune ups go well & theyre of a sililar style.

Cotto is his best bet. Everyone else beats him imo. Whether it be youth ,size or style. Cotto is a good fight ..

You guys are gonna be surprised at Maidana's power at 154. Not just regular power; KO power.

Honestly they should just bring a welterweight up to 154 for Maidana. They do it all the time. Might as well do it in this case.
