Hearns would batter Floyd by KO and even if he didn't get KOed, it would be an easy UD for Hearns. Floyd had trouble convincing the judges against DLH. No way he would last against a more active and powerful Hearns.

Nobody batters Floyd his defense in unworldly , but I think Hearns is to big with too many guns and would get the win , Floyds best was 135 Tommy best 147-160 .

Floyd's defense is good but let's not act like you couldn't hit him. You just need to be really good to do so consistently, and Hearns is that good.

Hearns didnt batter every body and got beat by a lessor fighter than Floyd , Floyd never got hit by everybody out of the 1000s of punches thrown at him by HOF fighters only a few actually landed flush with their best power shots , Hearns went to cruiserweight while Floyd struggles and gives weight away at 154 , the thing with Floyd is his defense allowed him to move up many weight classes , Tommys frame and power allowed him to do it and Tommy could really box , even though they cross over at 147 its not Floyds best weight .

People are always trying to lower the class of this era and think the old days were so much greater , Oscar would hold his own with anyone in history from 135 to 154 so would Mosley , prime Roy Jones at 160 could KO Hearns or win a UD , just those 3 are better than 95% of Hearns resume .

I love Hearns Leonard and Hagler , Duran Ali etc etc , they had resumes and you must look at the resumes across the board and if you look at all their fights there were times they looked not so good , what Im saying is fantasy fights always invision a guy at his most destructive beating easy whoever is in the fantasy , where real live beats to a different drum , in my opinion there is not much at all between great fighters from any era and when the greats get matched it is generally nip and tuck and who turns up on the night in the zone .

You're taking the word "batter" way too literal.

If Floyd clearly lost at his prime weight which you said was 135 (against Castillo though he got a generous gift), then I'm naturally going to think he's going to lose against better opposition at a weight that isn't his prime.

Prime Castillo gives anybody big trouble especially if your giving him 14 pounds advantage , Floyd did the honorable thing he gave an instant rematch and won clearly .

Again youre putting on a pedestal fighters from another time while trying to kick the modern era guys , Im telling you its not the gap you think it is .

I also said Floyd would lose but its more competitive than you think , Mayweather is never given the credit he deserves he is one of those guys that just has a freakish tactical mind , and thats the thing he always looks like he can be beat only they never do it , whether he wins by a inch or a mile he just does enough to win because they can never work him out , Floyd is a master chess player in a sport where wrecking balls get all the love .

                  1. Didn't say Prime Castillo wouldn't give a lot of guys trouble. All I said was that he lost to said Castillo. Rematch doesn't contribute to what the thread is about so meaninglees point.

                  2. Except I never said anything bad about Castillo. All I said was that Hearns is a better fighter, which he is. I never said anything about different eras. Because Hearns in this era would still be better than Castillo, which is essentially all I said.

                  3. I didn't say it wouldn't be competitive. I said it would be an easy UD (see Floyd-Cotto/Maidana). Competitive but easy fight to score and you get a UD for Floyd in either fight.

                  4. You took the word "batter" way too literal. It was my way of saying I think he catches and KOs Floyd.
