Still too soon to tell what may happen. Especially with Haymon in the picture.

I for one would LOVE to see this fight. Both have strengths that can give each other problems. It can take place in a Cambodian village for all I care. I'm still tuning in to watch.

Too much money at stake for Wilder to drop the belt at Haymon's command. This is not the Quillin situation where Kid Choc was able to fight for the belt he vacated.

This fight would sell out no matter the location, but I'm guessing the biggest $$ is in Russia/NY/South Florida, in that order, due to populations

Povetikin's been on a roll since losing Clinch-ko. He's stopped Charr, Takam, and Perez and now will fight Wach. Deontay wouldn't be getting any **** from anyone if he had a resume like that.

Expect Wilder to pull a Bowe. Haymon already has money, he needs Deontay's 'O' to get those high ratings for the PBC vs Breazeale, Tarver, Cunningham, Browne, and Arreola.

Wilder doesn't have a promoter. World of Boxing can be the promoter of the bout. Ryabinski has talked about staying fights in America in the past. They put on an awesome show. I would love to see them promote a show here with that Russian atmosphere. And these Russians in America would pay big money to see the fight.

I have a question. The WBC originally called for negotiations to begin in October. After that Povetkin signed a fight for November. Could Wilder get one more fight or does he have to wait for the results of Povetkin's next fight?

WBC just came out and said wilder can't have anymore voluntary defenses his next fight will be against povetkin, they still start negotiations on October 24th as been planned

The Premier Boxing Champions series returned to primetime network television on a softer note.

The latest edition of the PBC on NBC, featuring the Deontay Wilder/Johann Duhaupas heavyweight title fight, earned a 1.6 overnight rating on NBC Saturday night — down 16% from the network’s two previous primetime cards, each of which had a 1.9. Saturday’s overnight peaked at 1.9 during the final half-hour.

Including NBC’s debut telecast in March (2.5), the 1.6 is the lowest yet for primetime PBC coverage on over-the-air TV (four telecasts). Keep in mind the three previous telecasts did not face college football competition.

The 1.6 also matches the lowest overnight ever for the UFC on FOX (16 telecasts).

We should probably talk about the Wilder/pvetkin fight, no?

Wilder's not gonna drop his WBC title. He's a proud and confident young fighter and you can tell that the (WBC) title means a lot to him when you hear him speak in interviews. Plus, this title has allowed to bill himself as the "HW champion of the world" hence the two title defenses.

Wilder is gonna have to "bite the bullet" and travel to Russia (like Rocky did against Drago) and defend his title. Before the Duhaupas fight, I favored Povetkin over him but Wilder has added to elements to his game that he didn't have before. He also looks a lot more comfortable and confident in the ring; the Stiverne, Molina, Duhaupas fights have given him that.

That said, I think this is essentially a 50/50 at this point. Wilder definitely has a great chance of beating Povetkin. Once Povetkin fights Wach, we'll have a better idea of who's the favorite in this fight.
