Great to read Espinoza say Wilder will be back in Dec. or Jan. He is staying very active. If he fights in Dec. that will total 4 fights this year. Although I think Jan. is more likely due to the eye injury. This will set up the Povetkin fight perfectly for May.

Why do you people think Wilder who is 6'7 with 84 inch reach and devastating power, will lose to a guy who is 6'2, 75 inch reach and almost lost(in my opinion lost) to a cruiserweight Marco Huck. Because Povetkin has beaten real fighters, because Povetkin is a Olympic Gold Medalist, because Povetkin brutally KO'd all his recent victims since Wlad, because Povetkin for once in his life is taking care of himself health wise. After that Wlad loss, he's learned a lot, I'm almost certain he'll be very prepared for Wilder who leaves himself open often (note, Povetkin is the most notorious inside fighter in the division)... Wilder's not gonna drop his WBC title. He's a proud and confident young fighter and you can tell that the (WBC) title means a lot to him when you hear him speak in interviews. Plus, this title has allowed to bill himself as the "HW champion of the world" hence the two title defenses.

Wilder is gonna have to "bite the bullet" and travel to Russia (like Rocky did against Drago) and defend his title. Before the Duhaupas fight, I favored Povetkin over him but Wilder has added to elements to his game that he didn't have before. He also looks a lot more comfortable and confident in the ring; the Stiverne, Molina, Duhaupas fights have given him that.

That said, I think this is essentially a 50/50 at this point. Wilder definitely has a great chance of beating Povetkin. Once Povetkin fights Wach, we'll have a better idea of who's the favorite in this fight.

1) What does "Duhaupas" mean?
2) Wilder still has highly suspect legs underneath... (but his ill little daughter got me emotional.)
3) Wilder should ask for PED tests, but I don't see him asking...
