    Hopkins vs Pavlik

Pavlik was the young hungry champion and Hopkins was the old guy, its so satisfying to see Hopkins get off first, land punches, and bewilder the younger Pavlik in an exciting bout.

A good thread question for a change.

Used to be Tyson vs Douglas, but is now Mosley vs Margarito with what was going on at the time.Mosley was a big underdog. His now ex-wife served him up divorce papers just before entering the ring. And the hard plaster in Marg's glove being caught by the trainer. The way he took it to Margarito, standing in the pocket and backing him up with big right hands was poetry in motion.Margarito barely laid a glove on Mosley and everyone including TBE ducker didn't want no part of him.Can never get bored of that fight.

            says froch isn't overrated.

calls him a warrior in the same post where he acknowledges that he wanted nothing to do with an andre ward rematch, and retired as soon as ward came back.

            british logic.

froch - ward [to prove points to idtiotic europeans who thought froch won several rounds and that the fight was close ]

                      ward won the fight, dude

i go back and watch specific rounds when limeys try and act like the fight was close. "

                      ohh, ward was fading doe!"

"nope. british commentators saying he was fading and him actually fading are different things. all boxers tire over 12 rounds. fading is very different from that. ward won the 12th pretty easily. you score a boxing match based on who landed the more effective punches."

these are the things you can say with confidence about a 6 year old fight when you've watched it recently.

for some ****** reason, i value truth and reality in bscene discourse. i understand that i'm in the wrong place for serious boxing discussion, but there's really no other place for me to talk about boxing. it's not a mainstream sport by any stretch in america.

it's also a great opportunity to watch andre ward play some tricks. his ring generalship in that fight is on another level. he's in control of absolutely every aspect of that fight, and it starts with where the action is taking place, and how far apart they are from each other during exchanges pardon me for appreciating it!

he retired within a month of andre ward coming back
that speaks volumes. you really don't need to add anything to it.
