Not meaning you here..... but, everyone moans about HBO, and yet HBO did not put a gun to Kovalevs head to force him to sign.
Kovalev (who I like, and rate, so get fcuked) signed an EXCLUSIVE deal with a TV network, effectively guaranteeing roadblocks in favor of better paydays.
So why blame Stevenson ?
How could anyone possibly blame Stevenson ?
Kovalev signed with HBO knowing that he effectively removed himself from the open market, to gain exposure and better paydays.
So, the current situation is exactly what Kovalev wanted/expected.Comment

Well GYM/Haymon know how to make the fight. Offer it to HBO for **** ton of money, if they turn it down they're free to take it where ever they want.
After taking short money to fight Hopkins and going into Pascal's backyard to take an unnecessary fight, I don't think Kovalev's scared of Stevenson.
Michel has never said anything as positive as this about Stevenson fighting Kovalev before, so that's encouraging.Comment

This is how the fight could be made. And based on what Michel is saying, I think they will go for it, maybe after Stevenson fights the winner of Fonfara/Cleverly. Providing he wins, of course.

As far as whats at stake it definitely should be a big PPV fight but neither are huge stars by any means so it'll probably stay on premium cable so I just don't see why they can't just show the fight on both HBO/Showtime.
But of course both networks are greedy and want it exclusively for themselves. I doubt Haymon cares at all really as long as he gets paid. Just make it happen already!Comment

... I said that in the first place, earlier this year...Comment

Why not right now? Seriously, this fight is not becoming more interesting with time. It's becoming less interesting.Comment

i guess they don't think it'd get a big enough viewership. if it was a duel ppv they might end up with 100k-150k buys each, which hardly justifies the effort, especially considering the hit that the loser's asset will take (let's be honest, after stevenson is KOed we'll probably never hear of him again)Comment

with beterbiev-barrera and alvarez-chilemba being made, it seems that michel and duva's working relationship is getting better, which bodes well for the fight. i still think that in the end hbo will have to cede the fight to showtime. haymon seems to be the most obstinate party involvedComment
