Comments Thread For: Stevenson's Promoter Hopes Kovalev Bout Happens in '16

They say good things often take time to develop. Some may disagree with this notion but in 2015 boxing fans finally got to see Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao in the ring together.

But, thus far they haven't seen the fight for all the marbles in the light heavyweight division between Adonis Stevenson and Sergey Kovalev. The usual boxing machinations and politics have kept this fight from happening. But Yvon Michel, who's company GYM, promotes Stevenson, believes this match-up can happen next year.

Why even bother speaking to his promoter? We all know Haymon calls the shots. His promoter can want whatever but it's always up to Haymon.

Well GYM/Haymon know how to make the fight. Offer it to HBO for **** ton of money, if they turn it down they're free to take it where ever they want.

After taking short money to fight Hopkins and going into Pascal's backyard to take an unnecessary fight, I don't think Kovalev's scared of Stevenson.

Duva's cut came out of Kovalev's $500k. Bscene had the article where Kovalev said he took home $150k out of that $500k. BHop got 3x that.

How could an exclusive TV deal result in anything other than a roadblock ?
