      I wouldn't go so far as to say that Margarito ruined Cotto maybe damaged him because since their first meeting, Miguel had gone on to win a title at the 154 lbs division and later had become the lineal 160 lbs champion at Middleweight.

      If anyone's career was ruined it was Margarito's, who would later go on to lose three of his last four fights; Of Which two had come by way of knockout. For example: Mosley by (KO), Pacquiao (who partially blinded him by nearly putting his right eye out) and the Cotto rematch by (TKO).
