As far as why Ward shouldn't go for Kov ASAP , I think the reason is obvious . No one should go to a higher weight division and fight the top guy in that division for their first fight , including ggg . I've always stated that ggg should get acclimated with at least 2 fights at 168 before fighting the top dog at 168 . Or at least give a REAL commitment to fight Ward with a real time frame that he'll actually stick to . It will be 4 years in March since he made his silly azz "anyone from 154 to 168" declaration and we've gotten not an inch closer to him fighting Ward , and that's just disgusting , especially considering he's gained much from this phony declaration .

Be reasonable mate. You can't expect a boxer to build a career plan around fighting some other guy in a higher division, at some point in the future, especially when that other guy is Andre Ward!

Andre's own promotors don't even know if he's going to to be fighting on the Cotto/Canelo bill in 2 months time, or what weight division he will be fighting in next.

The stunt he just pulled with the offer to Loeffler followed by this will he/ won't he bull**** over Gonzalez on the Cotto/Canelo undercard is typical Andre Ward.

GGG said he would fight anybody from 154 to 168 nearly 4 years ago now, and as we now know, he was true to his word and said "yes" to Andre when asked about it by HBO.

Andre wasn't ready for him back then, but it's all water under the bridge now. Ward, by the looks of things, can't make 168 any more, so he and GGG are now 2 divisions apart.

Ward is in Kovalev's division, so that's the fight you should be calling for now. And if you are a fair minded guy you will be giving Ward the shit he deserves here when it doesn't happen. And it won't happen. Ward will not fight Krusher.

Actually HBO had to strong arm Ward into accepting La Bomba. Ward was trying to fight Dmitri Sartison or MW Caleb Truax.

Ward fans/GGG haters like to call Golvokin a coward, but why did Ward reject the fight with Stevenson only to sign a fight with a shot to **** Kelly Pavlik? Makes you wonder about Andre coWard.

Ward has already has one fight at LHW, against Smith, so he can have one more on the undercard of the Cotto fight and then sign to fight Kovalev. I would even give him one more fight if he was to take it against Fonfara or Beterbiev. But no one under that level.

Not bias at all actually . My issue with ggg is the Ward fight is way over due as it has been almost 4 years since his famous declaration . He could have long ago gotten a couple of 168 fights out the way by now , but instead he's chosen to fight can after can in his weak division for the last 4 years . If GGG feels like he doesn't need a couple of 168 warm ups prior to Ward (which his statement implied) then more power to him , but I'd suggest he take it . I believe Ggg vs Ward is hands down the biggest fight in boxing right now , and it's a pity GGG is holding it up . Now had the roles been reversed and Ward is coming up with 8 different excuses not to fight GGG after saying he would , he'd be laughed out of town . Unifying at 160 is only one of the 8 excuses GGG/camp use . Today the impetus is unifying the 160 division , tomorrow it will be a catch weight issue or a purse split issue , whatever's convenient for the day I guess . People like u are allowing boxing to become too soft as u create justifiable safe havens for the fighters u like . Sugar Ray could and would have never unretired from boxing to fight around Hagler . He had to fight the best , and had he done anything else he would have been a laughing stock . Same goes for any of those guys back then , u had to fight the best , but today u get passes . Ward is stepping up to fight Kov , why should GGG get a pass not to step up and fight Ward ?

Are you pretending to be a moron, or is this the real you? Ward is NOT stepping up to fight Kovalev, and if he was, then how the fuck is GGG supposed to fight him at 168?

You say fans are creating a soft, safe haven by supporting fighters who won't take risks - so when was the last risky fight Ward took? Paul Smith, coming of 2 defeats, and not even the best SMW in his own family?

Uniesky Gonzalez wanted to fight Ward on the Cotto/Canelo undercard. That would have been a great fight, but we aren't we going to see it, because Ward turned it down, the way he turns down everybody who has even a sniff of a chance of beating him.

You support a safety-first, challenge ducking bullshit artist like Ward, accuse GGG of using unifying the MW division as an excuse to avoid risks, and then you bring Hagler into it, after saying that?

Did Hagler jump around from one division to another, chasing fights with other big names, or did he stay in his own division and fight all comers, the same as GGG?
