The first sentence of this article states that Mayweather is retired. So why is there a discussion of him fighting or not fighting a MW, or anybody? He retired! Please let it be so, & let's talk about someone else.

SMW is 168, MW a160. Thirdly, Floyd started off his career at 130, Golovkin at 160 and Ward 160. So yes, it is a problem for a guy that's a natural 140lber to fight a natural MW.

Lemieux in October, probably a tune-up against Johnson (or some easy opponent) in January-February or so, Canelo/Cotto probably in May, in the Fall unify for WBO against Andy Lee (assuming he still has it).
So why does Golovkin get hated on for not moving up already and fighting Ward? He's clearly on path to unify his division first, what's wrong with that? Why are all the haters excused for hating on GGG for not fighting Ward yet, but Ward get's a clean pass despite having already dominated his division and still not fighting Kovalev?
They both have legitimate excuses (Ward was on a layoff/doing tune-up fights), so why do we hate on only GGG instead?

You can't throw 20 potshots a round, hold 10xs and rub your elbow in your opponents face an face 4 xs a round, and win it against a guy like GGG.
If he was to beat him he would not get any credit the first thing they would do is bring up GGG's resume.

Pascal called out ward and said he can make 173 too.
GGG is A side and offered 164 at 50 50.
And he has better options..

Floyd has to do what fighters before him did. That is take risks, fights that you shouldn't win but do find a way to win. BH is even doing it at his age. Don't worry about what the critics say, all you can do is fight and worry about that later.
