The first sentence of this article states that Mayweather is retired. So why is there a discussion of him fighting or not fighting a MW, or anybody? He retired! Please let it be so, & let's talk about someone else.

Ward has already stated that he's going to be headed to 175 if he can't get any big fights at 168. Second, Golovkin would only be moving up 8 pounds to fight Ward at SMW. SMW is 168, MW a160. Thirdly, Floyd started off his career at 130, Golovkin at 160 and Ward 160. So yes, it is a problem for a guy that's a natural 140lber to fight a natural MW.
Ward started his career in mid 160's not MW. And since you bring up the weight issue. Roberto Duran's first pro fight was at 118 lbs. He worked his way up. Eventually when he was a welterweight he actually had the balls and went up to 160 to challenge Marvin Hagler who was destroying everthing in his path. Floyd is more skilled than Duran so if Duran can do it so can Floyd. Then again GGG said he'll drop to Jr. Middle so it should be less of an issue for him. WHEN Floyd returns his biggest fight and payday left would be against GGG. Knowing Floyd he would have some type of rehydrating clause.

So? Golovkin has this whole year lined up with fights.

Lemieux in October, probably a tune-up against Johnson (or some easy opponent) in January-February or so, Canelo/Cotto probably in May, in the Fall unify for WBO against Andy Lee (assuming he still has it).

So why does Golovkin get hated on for not moving up already and fighting Ward? He's clearly on path to unify his division first, what's wrong with that? Why are all the haters excused for hating on GGG for not fighting Ward yet, but Ward get's a clean pass despite having already dominated his division and still not fighting Kovalev?

They both have legitimate excuses (Ward was on a layoff/doing tune-up fights), so why do we hate on only GGG instead?

im not saying it would be easy for Floyd especially at his age but people keep pushing the goal line with him.

If he was to beat him he would not get any credit the first thing they would do is bring up GGG's resume.

Kovalev still waiting for a ward response. Called him baby dck.

Pascal called out ward and said he can make 173 too.

GGG is A side and offered 164 at 50 50.

            And he has better options..

No, I disagree 100%, and historians will give Floyd much, much credit as he took a risk, that's what its all about when talking about greatness. Theres nothing wrong with GGGS resume, he has beaten the worlds best middleweights. Floyd has never beat a middleweight.

Floyd has to do what fighters before him did. That is take risks, fights that you shouldn't win but do find a way to win. BH is even doing it at his age. Don't worry about what the critics say, all you can do is fight and worry about that later.

Im a Floyd fan. I desperately want him to be TBE. Desperately so! So im guiding Floyd to what he needs to do. As Floyd has not used his initiative at times and not been pro active.

You just know they have nightmares on a daily basis about it.

Duran is nothing less than greatness personified. His loss doesn't diminish the fact that he shared the ring with a beast.

He can but he won't. That's not how he do.
