Not the same thing as actual negotiations over a real offer, and not a "demand" even by your very loose standards.
    BULLSHHT !

Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas - Abel Sanchez, trainer of WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin, has made it absolutely clear that he's not going to budge from his position that a potential fight with Andre Ward will only happen if Ward - the recognized champion at super middleweight - is wiling to meet them halfway at a catch-weight of 164-pounds. Golovkin and his team received more than their fair share of heat in recent days, after placing a catch-weight demand on a potential fight with Ward. The reason for the heat, is because Golovkin was willing to fight both Carl Froch and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. at the full super middleweight limit.

    http://www.************.com/2015/07/...-basis-at-164/

According to a source which spoke exclusively to Boxing Scene, WBA Super World super-middleweight champion Andre Ward (28-0, 15 KO’s) and WBA Super World middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (33-0, 30 KO’s) have been in negotiations to set up a fight. However, negotiations haven’t been going smoothly thus far, with Golovkin’s team requesting a 164 lb.

      So.....
If Golovkin refuses to give Cotto/Canelo a catchweight, will you admit why?

        Fill in the blank......

GGG offered Rosado a catchweight, because he knew he didn't need one.

GGG refused Ward a catchweight, because..... ?

the cotto/canelo fight is a mandatory since they are in the same divsion. catchweights between guys in different divisions are different. its why catchweights exist. catchweights weren't designed so champs in the same division could drain other champs.

2 guys fighting in the same division don't need a catchweight.

2 guys in different divisions fighting is why catchweights exist

            you don't see the difference?

GGG refused Ward a cw? I'm not following, it's supposed be the other way around.

Point with Rosado, Golovkin was fine going down to 158 for a guy he clearly didn't need to, when it comes down to a mega fight with Alvarez/Cotto I seriously doubt Golovkin balks at 157 and maybe even 155. K2 saying otherwise for now is called negotiating.... You don't give in to all of your opponent's demands up front.

On Sept 18, 2004, WBC/WBA/IBF middleweight champion Bernard Hopkins fought WBO middleweight champion Oscar de la Hoya at a catchweight of 158lbs. Ironically, that title lineage is still intact with Miguel Cotto being the current holder.

On Nov 20, 2010, WBC middleweight champion Sergio Martinez defended his title against Paul Williams, wjo had been campaigning as a middleweight for 2yrs, at a catchweight of 158lbs. Ironically, that title is from the Bermard Hopkins lineage, which Miguel Cotto is currently the holder.

He won that title from Martinez, at a catchweight of 159lbs.

In their rematch at 154, Cotto made Margarito agree to 153lbs for Cotto's 154lbs title. Cotto going be Cotto.

                    Who cares !

Cotto weighs 153, you cant seriously believe he is a MW ?

Golovkin will chew lettuce or fight for a vacant belt.

Nope, all I see are convenient double-standards and excuses.

                      Cotto weighs 153.
