To think they care or that ultimately it will matter is even more naive.

Miguel Cotto is at the end of his career, is a sure-fire HOF'er and looking to cash out.

Canelo Alvarez is just hitting his prime and he and his team will take their time in settling him into 160.

GGG is a middle-aged champion running out of time with a less than stellar resume.

Message board posting about respect (yeah right) won't change any of that.

Here's a question, will the eventual winner of DeGale/Jack be considered the #1 SMW over Ward?

Hopkins was 37 when he fought Trinidad and 36 when he beat Holmes with no major wins prior. Golovkin will be 33 with Lemieux and 34 with Alvarez and Lee.

GGG does not need ward. Clear out the middleweight division. Ward could not headline a PPv and sure as hell could not come close to selling out the garden. Ward needs to fight someone because all of the people that were considered good compitition that he already beat have all taken a nose dive as far as their careers. A guy who takes nearly 2yrs off has zero negotiation power.

36 actually. And slightly better than GGG. Just slightly.

              Quillin
              Andy Lee
              Billy Joe Saunders
              Eubank Jr
              Cotto
              Canelo
              Danny Jacobs

Ward is stuck with chasing a guy who isn't at his division and then maybe chasing Kovalev or Adonis Stevenson, situation is by far worse off for Ward some Yankees just like to create their own bias criteria but fact is Ward hasn't beat anybody that would have took him into deep waters because of their ability but even when he did get a tough fight he spoiled it by hugging and headbutting.

Mr Andre "I don't move up or down for anyone" Ward

how is he talking out of his ass?

if canelo cotto winner doesn't fight ggg. there isn't anything left for ggg.

Jacobs and quillin are haymon fighters who don't fight on hbo.

eubank jr and billy saunders are big names now? hilarious

andy lee lost to chavez jr, no way you can sell me he is a threat to ggg.

nobody gives a damn about ggg vs any middleweight unless its cotto or canelo

The fact still remains that fighting GGG next is the most lucrative fight for both. If they want to duck and take less money and face all the questions, well then that's on them. Personally I'm a Canelo fan because he does take challenges head on. I think he takes the fight regardless of what Oscar says just like he did with Lara.

                  Gotta get past Lemieux first!

But yeah, that's what will happen if GGG beats Lemieux and the winner of Cotto/Canelo ducks him or insists on a catchweight GGG won't accept.

If GGG keeps winning, he will be the unified MW king and one of the biggest names in boxing by 2017, and he won't need Cotto or Canelo to achieve that.

Ward will either be retired or still fighting bums on Bet and talking bull**** about Kovalev and DeGale ducking him.

Yeah he takes the fight...when he feels like it. Doesn't matter to me. Just outlined three very likely scenarios that some people don't want to deal with.

Yet somehow he's managed his first PPV AND sold out MSG fighting David Lemmy-yoo.
