The truth of the matter is this, Cotto never even really needed Canelo, Canelo is just a fat payday for Cotto,Cotto is who he is, he's lost he's won, he's given ass whoopins and has taken his share of ass whoopins, four division world champion, represented Puerto Rico in the Olympics, has never backed down from a challenge, took on all challenges from 140 to 154, and a sure hall of famer, now what on Gods green earth has Canelo done in this sport to match any of Cottos accomplishments, nothing,nada, zilch, so the young red head boy, needs to play his position and be happy that he's even getting this shot, oh and by the way Cotto is the lineal middle weight champion of the world, so cinnamon shut the hell up and train hard cause win loose or draw for Cotto doesn't change a thing for him, but if Canelo looses, Mexico is gonna have to look elsewhere for its next star!!!

He beat ceaser, a guy with 12 career losses and had lost 2 of his last 3 prior to fighting cotto.

Ironically about the same age, a young canelo had already beat the same trout that beat a prime cotto. In fact, he beat probably 5 guys better than cottos win over ceaser at the same age, including one with the greatest of our generation, floyd mayweather.

I just want to point out that Cotto while already started as a Pro had a car accident that put his career on hold. I can't exactly remember how long but it has to be taken in consideration.

Cotto-ites forget that little detail. Thing about Cotto... I'll be as glad as I am Floydie retired when Cotto retires. Seems like every week the guy gets to be more of a diva. And I just don't see how the old man can stand up to 12 rounds of Canelo, who gets better every fight.... while Cotto has flatlined. Yeah he took a step up going to Roach, but there he's stayed.This will be Cotto's final fight.
