If Cotto's corner would have done their job they would have checked Margarito's wraps like they are supposed to. They probably did not his fault Margarito took all his punches and kept coming, not like he had a loaded chin or anything.

If he wanted to quit he would have stayed down. And no he didn't look over to his corner as a sign of stop the fight.

Cotto was taking an 8 count. He was completely gassed out as a result of breathing through his mouth from round 2 to 11. There was a headbutt in round two and the ref acknowledged it. "Watch your heads!"

Margarito is a bum who got away with plaster wraps.

In Mexico,I guess that makes him a legend.

I think Cotto will eat his words come fight night. This Canelo is very different from the one who faced Mayweather and even Lara. He was a total and drained rookie vs. Mayweather, yet he never did get hurt by Floyd's punches at all, but Cotto did. His brains against top opposition were still developing. Against Lara, his second meeting versus another high-profile super-defensive and skilled "fighter", was his second test. He showed a bit more improvement intelligence-wise. Those two fighters as well as Ward and Rogondeaux are by far the most difficult people to fight these days. Cotto's style suits Canelo. If Cotto tries to trade, he will lose against Canelo's power and youth. If he decides to jab all night like he did vs. Margarito one-eyed second edition, he will still lose, because that's exactly what Lara did, and he is a much better defensive fighter than Cotto, but still he got some very hard punches to the body that made him run away most of the fight and helped Canelo win in the view of two judges.

But it is interesting though, that Cotto is trying to ****e up a fight that will sell by itself, because I can assure you that it will be a real fight as opposed to the one where certain coward ran away from Pacquiao in an over-hyped and incredibly over-priced fiasco of a "fight".

Easy game to play. Trout made cotto look like a rookie and floyd could have got the ko against cotto had he pushed the issue in those later rounds.

Now I don't blame cotto for snapping back towards reynoso, but targeting canelo while he's not there to defend himself is by his definition, a coward.....and thus a hypocrite.

But who cares, ur time would be better spent getting a jump start on damage control and finding a plausible excuse as to why canelo was able to k.o. cotto relatively EASY!!!

                      - Well he fought everyone for 1 , His win againts Cesar Bazan that was only his 14th fight. To beat a guy of that caliber so early in your carreer says alot, he won belts in 4 different divisions. He has a win over Mosely when Mosely was still competitive, he has a win over Zab Judah when Judah was still competitive, Joshua Clottey when he was still competitive. He fought guys when they were still in there prime or still competitive. He had some up and downs in his carreer after the loss to Margaritto, but i think it had alot to do with his head, it wasnt right, he got into a huge fight with his trainer/uncle at the time..and went from Stuart to his strenght and conditioning coach, to the Cuban guy, and he wasnt himself, we didnt see the same Cotto which alot of us remmember at 140 and pre Margaritto. I think Pac was juicing when they fought, Pac took some serious shots from Cotto and he wasnt even fazed, thats juice man. Margaritto was most def cheating, PBF is just that good, and the loss to Trout I think had alot to do with his trainer he fought the wrong fight, I bet if they were to fight now Cotto would KO Trout.
He beat ceaser, a guy with 12 career losses and had lost 2 of his last 3 prior to fighting cotto.

Ironically about the same age, a young canelo had already beat the same trout that beat a prime cotto. In fact, he beat probably 5 guys better than cottos win over ceaser at the same age, including one with the greatest of our generation, floyd mayweather.
