(1)Time moves on and circumstances change. GGG was trying to make fights with Froch and Chavez, and he would have been the B side to both. You don't ask for a CW when you are chasing a fight yourself.

GGG wasn't chasing Ward. Ward was chasing him, or pretending to, at a time when GGG had other options on the table. (2)If a fighter recieves a challenge from a man in a higher division, he has every right to ask for a CW.

you're right taking a loss at this point would be bad business for little g. There's a reason why team ggg killed the fight by insisting on a catch weight that Ward can't possibly make. 33 and counting and still not even one A list opponent. Le Mew is a step up but not a huge step.
