Besides Ward was ready to come down to 160 for PBF So 164 shouldnt be a problem for him.
ward said anyone from 168-175 3 years ago, then when kova called him out he backed out like a biitch. also keep in mind ward fought at 178 in Olympics.AND comes in 185 at fight night in the Pros.
So WARDOS, you guys remember GGG's 154-168 but chose to forget Ward's 168-175 + He said he will be HW champ by age 32
    "

Oh I read your nonsense ..You need to check your brain cells first before you call anyone a dumb idiot ! Your full of contradictions here !

154-168 this is what he said yet he hasn't faced 1 elite level guy ..He's on his 1 st PPV .. He wants the champ at 168 to come down to him

Who is he to dictate anything with no resume to speak of ?

He is also willing to face Chavez and Froch at 168 genius ..All you can come up with is well he's never fought above 160 really contradictions ,contradictions !

Who keeps using who's name ?

    Ward says anyone from 168-175

Kovalev calls him out and Ward backs out he's the ***** ..Triple GGG wants Ward to come down to 164 Ward refuses all you got is GGG is A side..

    Both are ***** moves ..

        3. Ward HAS ALREADY WIPED OUT 168LBS.

        4. Ward has been at 168lbs basically his entire pro career.

        5. Ward has notable names on his resume and is critically acclaimed as a great boxer by both most fans and media. He has financial and legacy bargaining power in any negotiations he goes into.

        6. GGG is the complete opposite. He has NO NOTABLE NAMES and does not want to risk his record and place in boxing right now by fighting ward when he has NO LEVERAGE WHATSOEVER.

        7. Floyd Mayweather Jr. fans should appreciate such careful career planning.

        8. GGG is a 160 pounder.
        9. Ward is a career 168 pounder who has already worn out his welcome and finished his business at his division. Why does he act like the black Joe Calzaghe?

        10. The RIGHTEOUS SON OF GOD thing to do would be to stop waiting out a fighter smaller than you that fights in a division lower than you and has had no fights vs anybody notable and finally do the right thing and move up to 175lbs, and fight many notable guys for more legacy, fame, and fortune....
you forgot to mention that GGG wants to unify the division first. the chavez jr fight was more of a promo since we all know that chavez had a bigger following than ward. i still feel ward shouldve moved up and fought at 175 but instead he let BHop steal his spotlight

Meanwhile back on planet Earth. Here is "tiny" "five foot 7" Alvarez next to Golovkin.

The same Alvarez that weighed 174 in the ring vs Angulo.

          Meanwhile Ward is 6'1".

So you Floyd d1ckriders thought it was ok for catchweights...demanding Canelo come down, not meeting the contractual weight in the Marquez fight...but triple GGG can't ask a larger fighter to come down? Isn't GGG the a-side? Or does this argument only hold weight when it suits your agenda? FOH

I knew Canelo looked a bit bigger than Gennady, good job with the photo.

Forget about GGG for a minute and answer this question, Dirk - Do you really believe that Andre Ward is serious about fighting Kovalev?

                  Andre Ward?

I have to take exception with a couple of your points.

                      Point 3:
Ward cleaned out SMW 4 years ago and has done absolutely nothing since. New fighters have come along since then and Ward has been stripped of titles due to inactivity.

                      Point 5:
The most notable names on Ward's resume are retired now. The two top names, Kessler and Froch, are no longer in the fight game. His fights against them were 4 years ago and no longer carry any weight as far as negotiations are concerned. In boxing as in any other sport, you are only as good as your recent events and Ward has done nothing to brag about since the Froch fight almost 4 years ago now.

                      Point 6:
GGG doesn't want to fight Ward right now because there is no logical reason to do so. There is more money fighting in his own division. He has now reached PPV status, something Ward has yet to achieve, and he is yet to achieve his main goal which is the unification of all the MW titles. Ward has nothing at all to offer Golovkin. No fan base, no money, no PPV - not a damn thing at all. And even if Golovkin beats Ward, as I believe he does, he gains nothing.

But in general, I am in agreement with you.

Ward fought last at a LHW catchweight and we do not know if he can even make 168 right now. He has no business calling out a fighter from TWO WEIGHT CLASSES BELOW HIM when he can easily move up two pounds to fight Kovalev.

Ward needs GGG. Ward needs Kovalev. Ward needs a quality fight against any decent opponent. But no one needs Ward. Sad to be saying that 4 years after he was one of the most in demand fighters around.
