Great performance but he looked sloppy to me at times. He dominated the fight but I could see slippage in him. Against both Canelo and Guererro, even though he dominated.

That's why I expected a guy with Maidana's style to trouble him.

But he looked A LOT better against Canelo than he did against Berto. Like I said, Berto is probably the worst I've seen him look ever.
Maybe you watch him a little closer then I do. I was never a big fan of his style after he moved up and became less offensive then he was at 130..
But I remember being super impressed on how he took the fight to Canelo a lot of that fight and didn't let Canelo bully him at all..
Can't say I'm sad to see him go but I definitely respect his ability to beat top level guys at an advanced age and barely get a scratch on him in the process

      Loooool. Nice try.

If you can't see how much he's declined, then I don't know what to say. The fact that he's still the best in the game is a testament to how good he was in the first place.

ya granted people always have an excuse on why floyd looked so good whether to old to young this one was to young and weight drained but there is no question he stood in the pocket against canelo and was even walking him down at time. that was his best and performance imo in his showtime deal. beating manny might been bigger but the canelo win was far more impressive imo. i would also take canelo over manny as well

But the likely hood is floyd was on peds and masking them

Along with canelo didnt earn a floyd fight .he beat alfonzo gomez and josesito lopez (two 140 pounders) at 154.
How does that get you a catchweight fight with floyd??
Oh yeah he is mexican. Thats why

Canelo is and has always been overated

I actually disagree with this. I think Maidana 1 was the worst I'd ever seen him look. He looked flat, couldn't pull the trigger at times, and was getting hit with shots he used to avoid with ease. Against Berto I thought he looked pretty decent. His foot work was good, his jab was sharp, his defense was good especially considering the fact that Berto has much faster hands than Maidana, and his conditioning seemed good. But, it's obvious that his hands are breaking down rapidly. He only threw 400 punches and still broke his hands.

I'll say this, Floyd isn't shot and teaming up with Ariza rejuvenated him a bit. However, his hands are definitely shot. Ariza was interviewed before the Pacquiao fight and said there were things that could be done to improve Floyds foot speed and hand speed even at 38, which was probably why he looked quicker even than Manny. But Ariza also said there was absolutely nothing an athlete can do to rejuvenate their hands.
