    Maidana overrated

Maidana is very overrated. He lost to Kotelnik, Khan, Alexander and Mayweather 2x. That's 5 losses, with 3 of them coming against good-but-less-than-great opposition. And his best wins are Broner, Cayo and Ortiz. Good-but-less-than-great wins. Why are people so high on this guy? He is dangerous and entertaining, that's for sure, but he is far from elite level.

Maidana has only been overrated recently because to his performance in the first Mayweather fight and people enjoyed watching him beat up the hype job Broner.

He's always been rated properly, but that Alexander fight really brought his stock down for awhile.

How is he overrated? in fact i would say hes underrated since most thought he was nothing but a bum. Hes a top 10 WW that will give other Top 10 problems including almost beating the #1 WW with the cards stacked against him.

Khan and Alexander are top opponents.. Kotelnik not so much, but then that was a very competitive closely scored split decision. Fighting competitively with Floyd in the first fight is better than many good fighters can say, so I wouldn't sweep that under the rug. Broner is a quality win. Cayo and Ortiz not so much.

I wouldn't put him in the top 5 at WW but I think he's top 10.

Who the h*** is overrating him?

We can only talk about underrating if we check the odds for his last fights.

He was 5-1 underdog against Broner.
People were saying he will get easily outboxed, stopped by a body shot. Broner did not even convincingly won a single round !!

              Then 10-1 underdog againt Mayweather.
He was about to get Gatti'd, embarassed and ... stopped by a body shot. He won 4 rounds, landing the same ammount of punches as P4P king.

So as you can see he always performs much better than majority of people are predicting.
              That's called UNDERrating

                  Underrated. Overachiever.

who actually rated Maidana that high in the first place?

Broner is the the prime example of an overrated fighter.
