Remember when Clottey blew up to almost 170lbs for his WW fight with Corrales and almost knocked Chico's head clean off his shoulders?

Or how about Chavez Jr putting on what looked like 30lbs after the weigh in for his last fight.

I don't but I remember Clotty was always a big azz welter. That must have been at the end for Chico? Fighting at 147....

Chavez is a lazy pig...I know he was around 180-185 when he fought Sergio at 160 lol.

I think it's a big problem not only gaining all that weight but killing yourself to make weight..I think I heard the other day at 15% dehydration of your body you're in risk of death...I'm surprised we don't see a lot of bad things happening with these guys.

Same day weigh in's need to be brought back. It's becoming ridiculous when a fighter comes into the ring 2 weight classes above the weight class limit that he is campaigning at. Either that or implement a rehydration clause of no more than 5-7lbs above their weigh in weight.
I agree about the same day weigh-ins. I would also be in favor of going back to the Original 8 weight divisions and one title per. The reality is. If we were living in an 8 division, one title per, and same day weigh-ins, this Cotto situation wouldn't even be a situation. Cotto would be a middleweight. And the vast majority of the guys b1tch'n about it would be light heavyweights.

Anyways, he's right in a sense about Cotto. However, it's just a ****** trinket and many of us crap on these belts constantly. Why is it such a big deal now with Miguel? Cotto is not a true 160 pounder and we all recognize GGG as the real champ of the division. I don't know why Cotto being a side attraction in the division (or close enough) and holding a belt mean so much to some people. I get that the linage dates back to Hopkins' reign, but it's really an overblown issue.
The difference is that Cotto doesnt just hold an alphabet title which we dont care about. He is the lineal MW champion of the world. He won the belt from Martinez who won it from Pavlik who won it from Taylor who won it from Hopkins...

Lineal championships are historically important and if Cotto doesnt want to fight at the MW limit or fight the best MW's then he shouldnt be allowed to market himself as the MW champ

Agreed. Sheguel doesn't have the balls to fight a real middleweight at the middleweight limit.

What's even more embarrassing is that Cotto claims to have wanted this title to become the 1st Puerto Rican to win as many titles in different weight classes.

Well...I've got news for you Cotto. This **** doesn't count. As far as I'm concerned, you are still fighting at junior middleweight. It's just that now, you are coming in a little above the junior middleweight division.
You are a moron, did you even read my comment thoroughly? And as for the this doesn't count **** who the pkuck are you to say so? Whether IDIOTS like you want to accept it or not, Cotto is the 1st Puerto Rican to win titles in four weight classes and is the man to beat at MW if you want to be king of the division.

Johnson is a moron he's the one that predicted that daniel geale would knock out Cotto lol , johnson sparred daniel geale before geale faced Cotto and he himself predicted a win for geale , saying how sharp he was when they sparred .

Be careful Bigjavi, the last time I suggested bringing back same day weigh ins. My thread was deleted, I got red k'd up the wazoo and nearly got banned. Oh wait, and it was in relation to GGG fighting Cotto.
