Wladimir is the most dominant champion in boxing. Does that mean he is P4P #1? Maybe, but he is not the best fighter in the world skill wise. At all. Probably not even top 10-15.

Some people think Ward is the best fighter, but he is not dominant at all and hasnt beaten a top SMW since 2011.

So it depends on how you judge it imo.

Is Wlad the best? No. Is Ward the most dominant? Hell no.

So imo someone like Kovalev could take the spot very soon. He is both extremely skillful and very dominant.

Wladimir is an extremely skilled fighter albeit not the most entertaining. He's developed a style that is incredibly difficult to deal with. He uses his physical attributes - height/reach and his physicality to neutralize his opponents. Is it flashy or exciting to watch? No, but it's effective. Couple that with the fact that he hasn't lost a fight in 10 years, has managed to accumulate and unify all the title (save for the WBC) and has beaten some quality opponents.

He could've fought. There's been many instances where athletes have competed in major sporting events where a loved one has died or is terminally ill.

Is Klitschko a more skilled fighter than Pacquiao, Rigo, lomachenko, GGG, Chocolatito, Kovalev, Ward etc? No he's not. Because he's a heavyweight, and a huge one at that, his dimensions prevent him from doing what those guys are doing. That's just a fact. Stevie wonder could see those guys have more skills.

Yeah, you mention all he's done. Great. I agree. As I said, he's the most dominant champion in boxing. It still doesn't mean he's the best fighter. So if you want to give Wlad the #1 spot, ok. But then I can't see how Ward even figures on the list as he has done **** squat in 4 years.

Ok give me one example of a fighter fighting when his close family member, former trainer and brother of his trainer was deemed terminally ill a day before the fight. I'll wait on that.

If he had already died and it was a world championship fight. Yes. Like Buster Douglas did against Tyson.

But only a sick man would accuse someone of ducking another fighter, which was a last-minute step in - when said family member hadn't died and was laying on his deathbed.

I'm sorry, but that's a sick accusation. People who come up with that sort of nonsense aren't much of a man in my opinion and don't deserve respect at all.

It's almost as if you forget that these people are actual people and not just figures in your TV.

As I recall it, Fury's relative was sick weeks up to the fight. Why didn't Fury pull the plug much earlier? Why wait until the morning of the fight to pull out? The timing of it just seemed suspect to me.

Fury also proclaimed that "he would never pull out of a fight" when David Haye did so before their big fight.

He was admitted to the hospital the day before the fight or on the actual day and it was told to the family that he didnt have much time. Peter was the one pulling the plug on the fight anyway.

Think about it. Why would Fury duck Ustinov? Honestly,

Yeah bad timing, but he was obviously referring to niggling injuries and stuff like that. When it comes to death in the family or sickness, that comes before anything.

          • Wladimir Klitschko has always been P4P 1 in my eyes when Pacquiao wasn't the number 1 guy.

He's a big win away from being ahead likely.

Also, Golovkin pulled out of the proposed Andy Lee fight because of the unexpected death of his father.

Completely fair and valid reason to drop out and take a break and be with your family. Didn't hear anyone saying he ducked Lee.
