Comments Thread For: Mayweather Sr: My Son Beats Guys Like Thurman Easy

As of Sunday morning, Floyd Mayweather Jr. (49-0, 26KOs) is a retired fighter. Most believe he'll return within a year.

At the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, he matched Rocky Marciano's undefeated record with a lopsided twelve round unanimous decision over Andre Berto.

If Mayweather returns in 2016, there is currently a limited pool of potential opponents.

Father and trainer, Floyd Mayweather Sr., evaluated some of the possibilities - if he son decided to come back. For himself, Floyd Sr. would like to see his son return for at least his 50th fight.

I agree with you on that.

That's why it should have been one of them Saturday instead of berto.

I think Thurman would be lucky to win 3 rounds against Floyd.

If Floyd had fought Thurman, we'd hear about khan. If Floyd fought khan, we'd hear about Thurman.

Whoever Floyd fights certain posters will ask for someone else so they do not have to give him credit if he wins.

One Time is absolutely a better choice than Khan, or Berto for that matter. The only people who would have complained about One Time over Khan are Khan fans. And we already know they're not to be taken seriously.

Even the majority of Floyd fans couldn't defend Berto. So that old saying, "no matter who", doesn't apply. Just keep it real.

I see you've been more active lately. welcome back. hope all is good.

Yes, Thurman is far better than Berto. Did you see Thurman in the audience at the fight? Dude looked like he couldn't believe he had to watch this fight knowing it should be him.

Dude, Berto is a bum, of course. Crap fight, not who I wanted. IMO he took this just to complete the showtime deal and get to 49-0 to set up 50th fight.

But keeping it real, no matter who he fights, certain posters complain. with him retiring, lets hope this doesn't happen again.

That is absolutely true, which goes to show its beyond logic and more about wanting to see Floyd fight until he loses. Its never about crowning him for who he beat and more about ok but what about ( Insert shot in the dark fight )

I wouldn't call Berto a bum. More like a gate keeper. Definitely not deserving of Floyd fight, (through no fault of his own). He is a former champ who's been exposed. He's like a stepping stone, or a solid test for a young prospect, but no bum.
