But why are we ignoring Floyd's entire body of work below 147? Of course Diego Corrales or Jose Luis Castillo wouldn't beat Ike Quartey. These are just fantasy fights. You have to look at 1) Who they beat 2) how they beat them and 3) when they beat them.

I believe only Pac 2015 had a shot at Whitaker 97, because like you said, he looked on the decline even though he had not lost...other than that, they all get KO'ed or embarrassed.
That's an opinion. I'm sure you wouldn't have picked Hurtado or Rivera to beat Whitaker and both of them almost did. In Rivera's case, you can make an argument that he pulled it out. Floyd fought way better fighters than Wilfredo Rivera and Diobelys Hurtado.

Part of Floyds greatness is that he has been at the top of the sport from 99 to 07 then 09 to 2015, Oscar's prime was shorter, since he didnt keep in shape and wasnt a gym rat... 95 to 03.
No matter how you spin it, it's about who you beat, how you beat him and when you beat them. Floyd beat quality fighters, by a large margin over the course of 18-19 years. In most cases, these fighters were ranked pound for pound or coming off impressive performances.

Like I said, if floyd is greater because of longevity I have no problem with that but come on, his opponents were not better than the top Oscar faced...
If you were to be as critical of Oscar's opposition as you are of Floyd's, you would realize that is not as clear cut as you are making it.

I disagree. ODH IMO won the 1st 8 rounds.

Whitaker was coked up and well past his sell-by date for the de la Hoya fight. Sure, I see no fault in thinking that a prime Whitaker would beat a prime Mayweather but no way in hell does the coked up and well past his sell-by date version that Oscar fought beat a prime Mayweather. Stop smoking the Crack...

de la Hoya legitimately LOST those fights. No robberies were invloved.

No, they're resumes are NOT close. de la Hoya's best win is a roided up Trinidad KO victim Fernando Vargas...

Then I question your ability to score fights. Even Harold Ledderman, as blind as he is, scored that fight a DRAW. Trinidad de la Hoya was NO robbery...

ODH/Tito? No. I thought ODH really made it look easy, and everyone on NSB knows I hate Fishnets de la coka.
