Max talks about Floyd's Testosterone/Epitestosterone ratio.

    Avg white man 1.2 to 1 T/E.

    Avg. black man 1.3 to 1 T/E.

WADA allows athletes to have T/E ratio as high as 4.0 to 1.

    Floyd's T/E in previous tests was 0.69 to 1 and 0.8 to 1.

Low ratio of T/E is a red flag for PED use because it indicates "MASKING" to hide/lower high testosterone levels.

I finally heard a portion of Kellerman. I'll use this example of Jon Jones...his levels are lower than Floyds, yet the CIR showed he was clean.....so what does that mean?

Jones had his T/E levels measured on three occasions -- an extra test was ordered because his first sample was diluted -- as part of out-of-competition drug testing ordered by the NAC. His ratio in the three tests were 0.29:1, 0.35:1 and 0.19:1, well below the normal ratio (1.3:1) for an average African-American male, according to Conte. In addition, Jones’ testosterone levels in those three tests were 1.8 ng/mL, 0.59 ng/mL and 4.9 ng/mL; the average level for a male is 61.3 ng/ML.

However, the NAC later revealed to MMAJunkie.com that Carbon Isotope Ratio testing was performed on each of Jones’ drug tests, including a pair of post-fight samples, and the results came back clean. Although the CIR tests would be able to detect if Jones had been using exogenous testosterone, Conte remains skeptical not only of the champion’s low overall levels, but of the great variance in Jones’ T/E ratios as well.

To get your total free testosterone down you take a large IV to thin the blood since the test is a density (ng/ml) test the more you thin the blood with saline the more you lower the density of the testosterone in your blood. A quick IV administered right before a test will thin the blood enough to get a high testosterone density back into the normal range if its abnormally high due to taking synthetic testosterone. This is what Armstrong did amongst other tricks.
        Good info.

Question, so they said Jones test was watery and if you look his levels are crazy low. Yet he passed the CIR....how is that done....not being a smart ass, just wondering how.

Actually...a quick glance at the postings and sports news and it seems that quite a lot of people care and it's an issue.

He could have used altered testosterone. Balco's chemist used to pass a gas through off the shelf testosterone and alter the chemical composition enough that it was not detectable via the then relevant tests. That's how he created "the clear". Then he could have used IV saline to pass EPO testing.

Sure nobody cares about it(sarcasm). In a matter of days, several thousand posts have been posted on this subject and it was even made a sticky but to you, that translates to nobody. It's been on the news and even bumped NFL football yesterday to 2nd.

What most people are not enthusiastic about is tomorrows cherry picked fight.

So the CIR is not as important as Max is stressing then? Because Jones levels were crazy low and if he uses what you stated above he could still pass a CIR.
