easily explained bc maidana was tryin' to promote bein' an mma fighter the first fight EVERYBODY was tellin' the referee and the boxing commissions to WATCH OUT FOR THE DIRTY BEHAVIOR OF MAIDANA.

When Chavez sr was fighting Tayor, his corner told him he was losing, yelling in his ear he was losing, begging him to do it for Mexico, his family, etc...

When Kevin Kelly was losing to Gaynor, his corner told him he was losing and he went out and knocked the guy out.

There are cases on both sides of this argument. Something's work on some fighters, but not with other fighters.

It all depends on the fighter's personality, and communication styles.
