Hearing from a plugged-in source that the @FloydMayweather @AndreBerto fight is tracking well PPV wise, in the Maidana 750-900 range.

It doesn't even matter,Espinoza/Ellerbe will not be releasing the actual numbers anyways. Of course they are also the sources too.

Who cares about the numbers game anymore other than the fighters & promoters?

      • It's a garbage cherry pick mismatch of a fight that deserves failure. Mayweather is a 30 to 1 betting favorite. Does that sound like a competitive fight? Brook, Lara, Thurman, Porter and many others would be much better opponents. Soto Karass knocked Berto out with one good left hook.

        • Crap like this that is being spouted about Mayweather is proof that you can twist any information to make it sound the way you want. It is also proof that the expectations that haters have created for Mayweather are outright ridiculous.

There are supposedly 2100 tickets left. That means that 13,000 tickets have been sold. That is 1,000 more tickets that Cotto/Alvarez will sell at most and three to four thousand more than GGG/Lemieux will sell. Yet, the haters claim this is a disappointment!

The fight is supposedly on track to sell one-third of the PPVs that Mayweather/Pacquaio sold. That means that the fight would sell 1.1 to 1.2 million PPVs. That is more than Cotto/Alvarez and GGG/Lemieux combined will sell. Yet, the haters call this a disappointment!

There is no one that Mayweather could have fought next that would generate 4 million PPV sales or sell out the MGM Grand. The Berto fight is a success or failure depending on how you CHOOSE TO VIEW IT. The haters will see it as a failure regardless of how well it sells. People who think more rationally will consider 900,000 to 1 million PPV sales and a $10 to $15 million gate as a huge success.

Berto was whooping Soto Karrass until he got legitimately injured.

I think Floyd was looking for an easy fight to fulfill the Showtime contract and get Floyd to 49-0 so the 50th fight is more of a big deal.
Lotta fans don't like Khan, but he would've given a more competitive fight, he's faster, and you're right sold more tix just from being Brit and having more personality. Ellerbe may reject all he wants, but really, compared to all Floydie's PPVs, I wouldn't be surprised one bit if this is the worst seller. So IOW, I think it's safe to say that Floydie is so scared of losing his 0, he basically threw out a chance to clear nearly twice as much. That's real fear.

Per sources: MGM canceled all their closed circuit viewing parties for the Mayweather fight this weekend.

                    • I never expected this fight to sell out the MGM Grand. That was never going to happen so everyone can nix those expectations.
