The fights going to bomb. ESPN reporting thousands of tickets unsold with just a few days away. The combination of a horrible opponent who will be like a 100 to 1 underdog come fight night and the fans backlash over the Manny fiasco are why nobody cares about this. PPV buys which were already declining before the Manny fight will be really low for Floyd. I'm guessing half of what the Maidana fight did. And those numbers were not good which is why Showtime refused to release the official numbers. This fight just has no hype.

People forget Floyd doesn't have that much of a fanbase. He started selling as he played up the villain card. Got the public to hate him. People bought his PPVs not to watch him fight but to root for him to get knocked out. Well it's impossible to play the villain in this promotion when the guy he is facing is such a weak opponent and massive underdog who most casual fans either don't know or care about. To play the villain you need someone the public can get behind as the hero to root for. Berto simply isn't it. The fight is a joke and public ain't buying it.

As a business man I give him props.. fighting bonofied draws, and out pointing them in boring fights, but talked smack so people would hate him, was what sold.. he wants an easy fight thinking people really want to see him.. doubt it..

bradley vs rios is a poop fight but it's farrrrrrr better than floyd vs berto.
A tune up for what? A Bradley fight?

Mayweather has fanboys who would pay to watch him fight cab drivers. Who have learned to love his boring, cheating, amateur style of boxing. This match up should prove that the majority of Floyd's ratings come from people hoping to see him lose. Since there's no chance of that happening here, they won't waste their time and money.

but no fanbase huh?
Stop hating bro. If you don't like floyd, that's understandable. But you can't change facts.
He has sold more ppv than any fighter in the history of the sport.
How can a fighter with no fanbase do that?Last edited by bluebeam; 09-09-2015, 03:50 PM.
