McDonnell vs. Kameda- ex. of how commentary can influence the audience

I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone because of the s**t you dumb f**ks are saying,
.
Those of us who watched the fight on CBS couldn't even hear the commentary 75% of the time because it was getting muted.
All I saw from McDonnell was 1,000 missed/blocked jabs.Comment

It's funny that Haymon and co. have tried to take the belt twice and failed both times. Rarely does it happen where Al doesn't get exactly what he wants. It is Pre-determined Boxing Champions, after all.
Wonder if they'll talk McDonnell into a 2nd rematch, again in Texas lol.Comment

I thought the match was closer than the actual scorecards. I didn't think it was a clear Kameda win either. I don't know how they thought Kameda won five of the first six rounds.Comment

I also scored it 115-112.Paulie and Hunter, who are usually great at their job, did this fight disservice. It was a good fight but they paid all their attention to Kameda, who was getting hit with jabs the entire fight, had no answer for the jab, who was getting pushed back the entire fight and who got out worked by McDonnell.
Because of their commentary we're hearing how Kameda got robbed?
Meanwhile I switched back to the PBS commentary and these guys had McDonnell comfortably ahead I think they had it like 116-111 for McDonnell. So clearly they were watching the same fight the judges were watching and Paulie and Hunter were watching something totally different.
For the record I had a similar score to one of the judges 115-112. It was tough to score because Paulie and Hunter tried to convince me that Kameda won rounds that he didn't deserve. I thought the fight was closer than the other two had it, but the right man won the fight.
Ask yourself, did the commentary influence you?
Paulie and Hunter were disgracefully biased in favor of Kameda. Thankfully the judges were fair and objective.Comment

I do agree with you in a sense. The problem is that McDonnell didn't win 9 rounds in that fight. 6? Sure. 7? You're reaching. 9? C'mon son.Paulie and Hunter, who are usually great at their job, did this fight disservice. It was a good fight but they paid all their attention to Kameda, who was getting hit with jabs the entire fight, had no answer for the jab, who was getting pushed back the entire fight and who got out worked by McDonnell.

Two judges had 9 and 8 rounds for McDonnell. The judges in both fights preferred McDonell. Both could have just as easily went to Kameda.Comment

I just watched the sky coverage with american broadcasters
Pretty much agreed with them that mcdonnell won the fight comfortably
There were a lot of oos and ahs when Kameda winged out punches that didn't land flush.. I could see Paulie who is second only to Teddy Atlas in fake "sweet science expertise" getting fooled by that. Didn't watch it with him talking though.Comment

The commentary on any network is not there to teach you about boxing. They are trying to sell you something.Paulie and Hunter, who are usually great at their job, did this fight disservice. What was the punch stats? Since PBC doesn't show them. Fight was a lot closer than 117-110, no way around it. Kameda, I'm pretty sure landed more punches.
McDonnell might have been the aggressor, but what do you expect with a huge size difference (height and reach)? Kameda wasn't robbed, but fight was pretty much even.Comment
