I don't think that happens now DeGale is with Haymon.

On Hearn, there have been some good fights but a number of them have been on PBC and not in the UK so he doesn't get credit for them.

Hearn fighters have been involved in some of the better fights on PBC, hopefully another one tonight.

When will people realize that all PBC fights are NOT Haymon fighters?
The PBC event today is being promoted by TGB Promotions & Matchroom Boxing (Hearn's company).

Back when Warren was the big fish, we had the likes of Mike Tyson come over to the UK.

Now, we have the likes of Darleys Perez and Diego Chaves.

I'm not a Hearn hater or anything but I want to see him bring more world class fighters over. I can understand why he can't but I'm hoping he can

I really dont think Hearn is that bad tbh.

He hasnt been afraid to send his fighters abroad for the right fights and he has brought over some decent fighters too. Domestic fights have been decent. Fair few mismatches along the way of course which is annoying.

Biggest miss has been negotiating some big fights like Quigg vs Frampton and Khan vs Brook, but in both cases he is dealing with strong characters which sound difficult to deal with (for the record i think he is in the wrong with how he handled quigg vs Frampton, but hasnt done much wrong in the Khan situation).

He is a lot better than Mr. Warren, but that isn't saying much.

Surely he is even worse than Haymon, considering he has an exclusive contract with Sky and people have to specifically subscribe to SkySports and all those subscribers get are boring, one sided fights or so called "domestic rivalries" with little consequence.

Even the whiff of a competitive fight gets put onto PPV and the Brook/Gavin and Cleverly/Bellew PPVs have probably been the worst PPVs all year, here or in the US.

Promoters in Germany are doing it right, garnering millions in profits with good fights on national tv.

So why isn't Hearn faced with the same backlash as Haymon?
I really complained about the Brook cs Gavin ppv when it was being made, but on the night i loved it and thought it was worth the money for sure. 4-5 decent competitive fights inc. a few world title fights, good domestic scraps etc.

As a hardcore boxing fan i prefered that to a night with one good/ very good fight and the rest veing a load of filler.

Even for the PPVs that you want to disparage, you're willfully forgetting that the shows have been delivering 6 and 7-fight shows for the money requested (with near the full slate of fights having meaning to them).

"boxing fans", on both sides of the Atlantic, have actually been enjoying the resurgence of the sport in their home markets, rather than crying about everything.
How many of those 6-7 fights that are supposedly on these cards are competitive or between world class operators?

Yes PBC has put on some competitive match ups (Khan/Algieri, DeGale/Dirrel, McDonnell/Kameda 1) but it's literally a handful of fights in a series of many months when there are literally 10s of duds. That's not good enough.

But forget PBC, Hearn is doing an even worse job in the UK.

All fights with a Hearn fighter are and will be shown on SkySports, no matter if they are PBC or not in the States and with that in mind, they haven't been very good lol

Yeah, the whole brook/Gavin card was good but it wasn't worth PPV when people have to pay through their teeth for a SkySports subscription, that's exactly the sort of card that should be headlining a Saturday night on SkySports.

Heck, Hearn started off by putting on some absolute epic cards on Sky, after the whole Haye/Audley/Wlad debacle almost killed off british PPVs. But since building Froch as a name, he thinks any british fighter with a half decent alphabet belt round his waist is worthy of PPV. Yes you may be able to justify Brook/Gavin cos of the card but wth was Bellew/Clev?

Hearn hasn't been able to deliver a big fight outside of the Froch ones in years now, that's laughable, considering the millions his deal with Sky is worth and considering Sky has started to invest less and less in the big US fights, most of which now get shown on Boxnation or BT. The whole boxing thing on sky is turning into one expensive fiasco.

Don't live in the UK so I don't know what Hearn is doing.

Yes he doesn't seem to Protect his fighters, then again what Promoter doesn't protect his top fighters?

The quality of the shows, outside the actual quality of the fights, has been consistently high since Hearn became Sky's sole promoter, the product looks good and the crowds are coming out in force to support their fighters. Unfortunately the actual match-ups and fights have been a bit too varied. There has been a high number of terrible mismatches that Hearn justifies by talk of 'development' and such like. He does seem to focus too much on getting his fighter paid rather than providing the quality fights for Sky. Sky perhaps deserve more blame for not demanding a higher consistent quality of fights. Right now it does seem that the only genuinely good cards are on PPV. Hearn needs to put his own men together more and also stop bringing in some of the complete ****e he brings over from the continent.

Taking Joshua and adding him into the US market would be huge but Joshua has a wise head on his young shoulders, he knows that to become a star, he has to create a fanbase here at home and not come across as a mercenary...cough...Lewis...cough lol
