Eventhough i think lara won 7-5, he did run and didn't make canelo pay when he was open after the misses, lara threw and connected a lot less than mayweather, in my opinion (being cuban and a lara fan) it's better for the sport if runners lose the decision, it's called prize fighting, you want the prize, fight for it. It won't matter how many times you make the other guy miss if you don't also make him pay by scoring w your punches.

There's a difference between running and moving effectively. If you look at Pacquiao/Marquez III. Marquez used effective movement. Whenever Pacquiao took a step forward, Marquez took a step backwards. Pacquiao was never in punching range. As soon as he lunged in, Marquez would make him pay. Mayweather does the same thing but ten times better. No one accused Marquez of running in that fight. Mayweather did the same thing and the fans said he ran. Lara moved unnecessarily at times against Canelo. In that fight, he ran when he didn't have to.

I thought Lara won fairly clearly, but the way he fought was basically asking the judges to take the fight away from him.

Lara talked a big game prior to the fight

But all i saw was a guy panicked to bot get hit and intent on making Canelo and the fight look bad rather than winning

what floyd and rigo do is leagues above what Lara does. At least in this fight, Lara embarassed himself at the grandest possible stage. Will never have the chance again and blew it

Rigo had his and sent Donaire back to first grade

Lara essentially grabbed the ball and ran with it so no one would play

Lara had the tools to win, but he blew it.

Lara has no one to blame but himself. He didn't follow up on making Alvarez miss and let the ginger steal rounds. It was a close fight that could go either way. He should have won, he had the style advantage, but he let it slip away.

And Mayweather has never been in a fight like that, where it could go either way because Mayweather was running and not fighting.

Lara looked like he was in control for most of the fight, but he was way, way too negative, like an amateur who knows is winning and starts to coast.

Mayweather is surely not known for his volume punching, yet he threw much more than Lara (383Lara- 505Mayweather).

In terms of defense they were similar, Mayweather had a slightly better percentage, but got hit a few more times in total.

Maybe Lara deserved the W, but he has himself to blame, against a guy as famous as Alvarez you have to win rounds -very clearly-. Floyd himself got a MD, what did Lara expect?.

I had Lara winning, but I felt the fight was close enough to go either way so I can't call it a robbery.

The fight was close but Canelo won the match

Mayweather outboxed Nelo so easy, MoneyMay was boxing Canelo in front of him, unlike Lara was running n getting hit in the process

MoneyMay did a masterpiece on Nelo, Nelo obviously wasnt ready n May took that easy money
