what floyd and rigo do is leagues above what Lara does. At least in this fight, Lara embarassed himself at the grandest possible stage. Will never have the chance again and blew it

Rigo had his and sent Donaire back to first grade

Lara essentially grabbed the ball and ran with it so no one would play

    Overrated
Don't agree. Canelo sliced him with a clean uppercut and he couldn't see. That explains the excessive moving in the mid rounds.

Too much running for my liking. It stunk up the fight so I'm glad that he lost. I thought Canelo Trout was a pretty close fight though!

Words like 'duck' 'scared' and 'robbery' are used way too often by boxing fans.

Regardless to who u felt won.....this fight and the word 'robbery' should never be used in the same sentence.....it was very close.

Lara had the slight edge in punches landed but Canelo had the edge in power shots. Both Lara and Canelo's offense was anemic in the fight. A 7-5 either way split decision or a draw is a good decision. Even if you thought Lara won, it was a close fight and in no case a "robbery".
Bingo. This is the fight in a nut shell.

yeah, it was much closer than the lara fight, i had it a draw or a win for either guy by a point. personally a draw would have been the most honest result and then a rematch.

                1-Lara got hit more

2-Lara hardly even threw any punches

3-Mayweather even at 38 does not run around the ring how Lara did

Lara never set his feet for anything; Floyd takes a step back, makes you miss by a half step, and then is perfectly positioned to return fire.

Once Lara ever decides to set his feet, maybe he'd get more credit.

                    Idiots......

To all of you idiots on here comparing Lara and Floyd's fight with Canelo need to stop watching boxing. Canelo was badly drained by Floyd. He was as badly drained at 152lbs, as Oscar was against Manny. PERIOD. Floyd did not face the same version of Canelo. A fully hydrated and healthy Canelo, DESTROYS Floyd right now! And as for the fight, Canelo beat Lara. Lara did well for the first 4-5 rounds and then his movement became ineffective. Canelo's effective aggressiveness, body punching, and ring IQ won him the fight. It's enough of these fighters strictly getting credit because they move well. You have to let your hands go while moving, or risk LOSING. The same thing happened on May 2nd. Manny won for this reason. The same thing happened with Peterson/Garcia. Garcia won because the much bigger man, moved too much early and let the fight slip away. He did much better when he fought like he normally does, and that's come forward. What the hell was he moving so much for? Fighters who use this tactic, normally feel the power of their opponent's and it makes them gun shy and afraid to stay in the pocket. PERIOD.

That, and the body punches were bothering him whether anybody likes to admit it or not
