  • Just rewatched Alvarez-Lara...

Why is it ok for Floyd to box the way he boxes and win a dull decision.Yet Lara boxed the same way and ending up losing a points decision.

ONE WORD....ROBBERY.They had it in the pocket regardless of what anyone says.

This coffee is beautiful.Needs more SUGAR tho.

Floyd box Lara run its different

Floyd makes you miss and pay

Lara makes you miss and then he is on the other side of the square

Floyd didn't move nearly as much as Lara did and he landed nearly twice as many punches as Lara did. With that said, I thought Lara actually won the fight, 7 rounds to Canelo's five rounds. It wasn't a robbery per se but Lara deserved to win the fight.

The term "robbery" gets thrown around way too often in the sport. Floyd landed at a much higher rate and outlands guys in total AND power punches. Lara had the slight edge in punches landed but Canelo had the edge in power shots. Both Lara and Canelo's offense was anemic in the fight. A 7-5 either way split decision or a draw is a good decision. Even if you thought Lara won, it was a close fight and in no case a "robbery".

Lara deserved to win the fight, but Floyd hasn't fought that way since Baldomir.

I really don't see much of a difference between the styles only difference is one has more political pull then the other, I watched the fight live and I thought Lara made canelo look way worse than Floyd did but there was someone next to me saying yea he's making him look bad but the judges like the fighters who come forward and he was right but Floyd can run from pac man and ppl say he put on a clinic, someone should post a video showing some differences because I don't see much

Am a fan of the sweet science, i don't mind KO's but a big fan of the sweet science. I always denounce fans who accuse boxers of "running". Having said all of that, What Lara did was called running. I accuse everyone of ducking him and when he got his opportunity he basically ran, he would make Canelo miss and that's it. Mayweather would make you miss and make you pay for missing, Lara? he would just run backwards

One makes you miss then snipers you with countershots. The other one makes you miss then runs around the ring. The difference is in the amount of punches thrown and landed.

Lara does have excellent footwork but he needs to throw more punches. A lot of the Cubans seem to be like that, even Rigondeaux falls into that pattern to a lesser extent.
