Lennox Lewis vs Wladimir Klitschko Predections

A fight that perhaps would have been the biggest heavyweight chess match of them all - Lennox Lewis vs Wladimir Klitschko.

You'd struggle to find more of an out and out tactical affair between two big men who can punch anywhere in the history of the sweet science.

Both came from tremendous amateur backgrounds, having pure grade and pedigree all the way through, culminating for the pair of them both winning Olympic Gold for their countries.

This type of high level amateur grounding is almost always a contributing factor in a professional fighter developing elite level pugilistic skills in the professional code, not necessarily guaranteeing world title success mind you, but almost always developing highly tuned boxers from a skill set perspective.

Such a fantasy fight would have had a little bit of everything, for every type of fan.

If you enjoyed your power punching from big heavyweights, both men deliver in this department, with a sickening 85 wins via knockout (as of August 2015) between them in the paid ranks.

Who could have took the power though? Surely advantage Lewis in this realm, one would have thought.

75+% people here would go for Lewis and I wouldn't argue, but for me it's 50:50. I like Steward's breakdown of this one..

Lewis would most likely knock him out.

Though it wouldnt come as a shock if he gets flattened himself, as it has been proven multiple times it only takes one punch

The problem with this is, over 12 rounds Lewis will eventually land and when he does it's good night.

Lewis is far superior to anyone Wlad has ever faced. Wladimir only started getting better once Lewis retired. Wlad wouldn't be able to be grabimir with Lennox & the first big shot Lennox landed would pretty much end it. Lewis had a much better chin then people say. Yeah he got laid out twice but both were big punchers. Lennox flat out came out of shape for Rahman & the McCall punch was him being careless early in his career. He took bombs from all the best HWs from his era & never really got hurt too often. Akinwande & Briggs both caught him with good shots that wobbled him but that was about it. Vitali never hurt him in their classic fight. Lennox would KO him by the 6th round...

Lewis I have no doubt, if Lewis lands anything he did against Vitali vs Wlad then Wlad goes to sleep and he would land.

                Round one:

Lewis and Wlad both start fast, they are on their toes moving around in the center of the ring, lewis shoots a jab and falls short, wlad darting backwards, lewis with another and falls short again, wlad fires a jab back and clips lewis slightly, there's a lot of posturing, lewis moving forward and wlad moving back wladamir throwing another jab, lands with two jabs, lewis clips wlad as he goes for a third, slow round.

                Wlad 10-9 Lewis

Cagey opening to this fight continues in the second, wlad circling on the outside, lewis matching his footwork, wlad goes for a jab, lewis throws a right hand and misses narrowly, both fighters are content to feel this out at this stage, wlad landed a couple of jabs in that round and steals it

                Wlad 20-18 lewis

Klitschko coming out more aggressive in Round 2, looking to push the action early on. He lands a jab, tries to follow up with another and HUGE RIGHT HAND FROM LEWIS, wlad is hurt badly, he tries holding on, Lewis tries to work free, throws two short hooks into Wlad's ribs, wlad is holding on for dear life, lewis pushing wlads head down and a POINT DEDUCTION FROM LEWIS, blatent shot to the back of the head inside, wlad is getting time to recover, referee calls to fight as lewis comes forward the bell rings

                Wlad 28-28 Lewis

Round four begins, wlad is cagey, he looks to be a little rattled, Lewis is hunting now, Klitschko has to fight fire with fire here, he's trying to battle back, both exchange right hands, lewis backs up slightly but Wlads legs have not recovered and he can't get full power into his shots, Lewis comes forward again, Wlad is trying to hold but lewis pulls back and launches an uppercut which rocks klitschko again, wlad is leaning on the ropes now, he's trying to jab off the ropes but HUGE RIGHT HOOK FROM LEWIS, Wlad is still standing, he's showing heart and resilience but he takes a one two combo and sags to the floor as the referee jumps in and waves it off

                Winner TKO4 Lennox Lewis

edge to lewis but wlad would have a good punchers chance. lennox never really fought a guy his size and strength with both a big right hand and left hook so it would be dangerous for him but wlad would be the underdog. vitali was his size but didnt have wlads,,,jab/hook or power

Lewis would outbox him and eventually KO him, I see no other outcome if we're talking prime vs prime here.
