I agree wth most of this. But this diva thing started with dlh IMO. He became the richest non heavyweight and dominated every negotiation in his career. It's just that when Floyd did it, people spoke up against him despite the fact he took one of the most lopsided deals in boxing history to dlh to put himself in this position. What I will say is Floyd took it to NEW levels in terms of control, but he definitely didn't start it.

That may be true to some extent but DLH to his credit fought everyone the boxing fans wanted when they wanted it despite snake oil negotiating from him.

I mean, did we have to wait six years to see a DLH/Trinidad fight?

I can't believe I am defending this dude in stating this but objectivity is the cousin of truth and truth be told DLH gave us fights we wanted and more often than none prime for prime to his credit.

Don't get me wrong I'm not against that dlh resume is one of the best in history. But a lot of ppl including fighters treated him much like Floyd at the negotiation table. Floyds image doesn't help me is the kicker. Dlh was loved for the most part outside of the Chavez fights. A lot of the guys that beat dlh also had good images. Floyd sold the public on a image that produce a lot of hate. And usually when ppl hate someone or something, they'll dissect any little thing about them.

If you're worried about health, don't fight. Every fighter's choice, fight and risk injury but get paid...or stay healthy. End of the day, he's fighting for those checks but wants to stay healthy too, I get that, doesn't mean I'll support it as I don't find that entertaining.

Or they'll pay to watch him lose which is what worked for Ali. Floyd for the most part has to own that criticism because of that image as you yourself stated he displayed thus many of the criticism isn't without merit.

That said, I respect the dude despite my personal criticism and albeit admitted bias because as I have stated previously he's leaving the way every fighter should leave with his health and wealth in tact.

Now only time will tell if he holds true to the wealth part considering his lavish lifestyle of spending as if currency was invented solely for his disposal.

But we all know for a fact that it was not his fault, Roach has admitted that, not taking the drug test which delayed the fight, was their FAULT. but you will overlook the truth, because reality hurts.

Give me a break last I checked this is the hurt business I don't wish I'll on anyone who steps in the ring ..All fighters are to be respected but with that said don't proclaim to the best ever when you have never faced an atg in their prime ,admitted to hand picking opponents and only at times fighting once a year facing guys who have no business sharing the ring with you ..While also disrespecting previous legends !

As long as he doesn't get involved with drugs he's gonna be fine, hell even Dela Hoya was on drugs but he never went broke and his promotional company is doing ok (was the top promotional country a couple of years ago), and I expect Floyd to do the same since he's very closely connected to Al Haymon, who pretty much controls boxing now.
