Let's talk about GGG's Little Homie

His name is Ruslan Madiyev. He is the kid you see in every pic with GGG while he is running, training, eating, etc. He is from Karaganda, Kazakhstan just like Golovkin and his only 22 years old. He is signed to GGG Promotions and is 5-0 with 3 knockouts. He fights at around 135 pounds. It seems like they haven't decided if his last name is Madiev or Madiyev yet (which is ok). He is trained by Abel Sanchez...At Golovkin's last couple of media workouts he has brought his little homie out with him to show him to the media. He was said to be an amateur standout in Kazakhstan but I am not sure of his record.

So lets give it up for the little homie.

So I don't expect many responses because he still just a prospect that is probably only about #5 p4p behind Kovalev but lets keep GGG's little homie in mind since we will be seeing him in the background of photos very often.

When I read "Little Homie" in the title, I thought this would be an appreciation thread for Golovkin's hog.

I was thinking Canelo's snake might have competition.

I really don't know much about this guy.
Kazakhstan has great amateur program, they've been pretty good for at least 20 years or so. The only problem is that they don't turn pro. GGG is the first one opening the door, so hopefully after these 2016 Olympics we get some of these guys in the pros.
Kazakhstan probably has the best team at these Olympics along with Ireland, Cuba and Russia imo.

Merey Akshalov at 64kg (Light-Welter), Daniyar Yeleussinov at 69kg (Welter), Zhanibek Alimkhanuly at 75kg (Middle), Adilbek Niyazymbetov at 81kg (Light-Heavy), Vassiliy Levit at 91kg (Heavy), and Ivan Dychko at 91+kg (Super Heavy). All of them are basically Medal contenders, some even for the Gold.
