It's not that Golovkin is afraid of stepping in a ring with Ward. Like most fighters, he and his team are more afraid of what will happen to the business side of their operation if they take a loss. In the case of GGG it would be worse as his aura of invincibility, and therefore his cachet would disappear. This is more a reflection of the state of boxing in modern times. Go back 25 years and it wasn't such a big deal to take a loss.I have no problem with Golovkin fans like you. You admit that Golovkin is a duck and deathly afraid of Andre Ward. If more Golovkin fans were like you, my opinion wouldn't be necessary on this forum. Unfortunately most Golovkin fans are delusional about their man's bravery. They don't understand that Golovkin is scared of Andre Ward like you do.
I'm quite sure that you have an over-inflated opinion of the importance and indeed the necessity of your opinion on this forum. Rest assured that very few of us would miss you and likewise I am under no illusion that anybody will miss my presence either. Lighten up. I'm here for some very light entertainment and to learn about boxing and boxers.Comment

fighting paul smith for 2 million dollarsI'm not a Golovkin fan - I don't take any vested interest in him as a person or fighter. He doesn't know me, doesn't care about me and when he says "this is a present to my fans" it doesn't resonate to me. In short I do not live vicariously through any other person. Do you? If so, why?
On the other hand I do follow his career with a lot of interest because he brings a lot of excitement in his fights. I have less interest following Ward as his style is very boring (for me). That said he is highly skilled.
Golovkin still has challenges at 160. Canelo, Lee, Lemieux. He has a reason to stay there to prove to himself that he is the best at 160. Ward on the other hand has very few, if any, challenges at 168. IMO he is a more skilled fighter than Golovkin and can probably jump a weight division more easily than Golovkin. So you have to ask why Ward doesn't do that?
fighting zac dunn for 2 million dollars
that's why he's not moving up or fighting anyone good in his own divisionComment

you could say the same thing about any fighter. ward is scared that if he fights kovalev he won't be able to fight bums for 2 million dollars anymore. at least ggg is taking risks in his own division unlike ward but according to ward fans he has earned it because of what he did 4-6 years ago. It's not that Golovkin is afraid of stepping in a ring with Ward. You answered my question. Ward is in a comfort zone. Years ago boxers ended up broke but fans saw great fights. Now too many boxers make great money for poor fights and in doing so fail to challenge themselves and see their prime slip by.you could say the same thing about any fighter. ward is scared that if he fights kovalev he won't be able to fight bums for 2 million dollars anymore. at least ggg is taking risks in his own division unlike ward but according to ward fans he has earned it because of what he did 4-6 years ago.Comment

Is this fight with Zac Dunn confirmed? I must have missed that? WTF is he? At least I'd heard of Paul Smith after his 2 fights with Abraham.Comment

no dunn turned the fight down. ward in the last 3 years has tried to fight caleb truax, marco periban, and dmitri sartison while turning down bute, stevenson, froch, and making no attempts to fight other good fighters.Comment

How the fcuk could the ring rank Golovkin over Pacquiao ?
They must use identical criteria for each fighter, surely ?
Explain what criteria could possibly rate Golovkin over Pacquiao.
The ring had Pac ranked #1 at welter despite never having fought a welterweight at 147.
Its a fkn popularity contest.
I'm lucky that I know whats up, or I could end up horribly confused like some of the asshats on this site.Comment
