He fought in an era where there wasnt as much competition for him.(Wish he would have fought in the era of Leonard, duran, benitez, hearns, hagler, pryor, chavez, pea whitaker) Really the guy likes to talk and mkaes himself look like some kind of robin hood. Freaking greedy mfer if you asked me. All these so called fans , he would spit in your face on the street, trust me. He is about himself only.

      • Pacquiao fans still crying? Get over it, you bought in to the hype and got embarrassed, sadly many of you are being fooled again by jumping on the Golovkin train. Shame on you.

            • I agree with what Floyd says about the media hyping Manny up to a certain point. They certainly did, the destruction he had over fighters like ODLH and Cotto/Hatton, the media jumped all over those wins, because at the time, except Cotto he had beaten guys Floyd beat but in a better fashion. You can argue all you want on the times they fought those opponents, but you can't sway what the media tries to shove down your throats.

I swear on my life, that half the commenters on here only view Floyd as a WW, at 147, or POST ODLH. Ya'll fail to remember how Floyd was pre 2007. The same Floyd at 140, 135, or even 130, had the skill set, the speed, and the power/combinations to do work on Manny in any of those weight classes.......PERIOD.

Granted some of the fighters are not on the same level as Manny, but the version of Floyd that clearly beat Manny on May 2nd, was a very diminished version of Floyd if you go back a decade.

I remember Floyd putting combos together against Gatti, the speed he had against Corrales and the combos he used to throw. You all act like this dude didn't have the reflexes and speed of a monster back then. He was more offensive, threw more combos, and tried to get guys out of there. At the lower weights, I'd put Floyd up against anyone, in any era and figure he would fair very very well.

This man's had a 19 year career, stop acting like he just started boxing 5 years ago, or maybe that's just when you all started becoming interested in boxing? The version of Floyd pre 147, is a hell of a lot better than Floyd at 147/154.

                • An american boxer fighting all his career in his backyard, talking about american media hyping a filipino up?!
I have never heard about PPV star with more dull boring fighting style than Mayweather, and he still gets away with it, which makes you wonder who is the media hypejob here?~

Even Broner is more exciting to watch, I wouldn't waste time watching Mayweather's fight on free TV, because he isn't a technician of Rigondeaux's caliber, and he has never taken a risk to go for K.O, his last K.O was a sucker punch, and the one before it was after 8 rounds of elbowing and hugging, it is like a decade ago!

I still think Floyd fought scared in their fight and could have gone out and stopped Pac had he not been so scared in the fight.
That's a pretty dumb "litmus" test and analysis. As time went on Pac dropped his unorthodox, wild style and became more of a boxer. JMM and Naco commented this was a benefit for them because even though Pac was getting "better" and more refined, it allowed JMM to predict him better. His "fitness" you are implying was worse against JMM during 3/4 (less output, less KD's), as he was boxing with a master-class boxer instead of taking his previously wild approach.
