You be knocking fools out when they ask for tech support?Been watching the sport since I was in middle school, started boxing in '06, been boxing ever since and my interest grew substantially when I started learning the art and getting in the ring, so since then I also have done extensive research which involves talking to people in the sport, reading articles and books, and studying fights and training sessions of pros and peers alike. I trained and was largely taught by Oscar Rivadeneyra, I would go out on my shield for him any day of the week.

What do I do now? Software Engineering. I never had that Pac-like situation where boxing was my only answer and as an AM it's all expense, thankfully I have a career that pays my bills, but my passion for the sport will always be the same.Comment

I didn't have any fights boxing but before I started going to college I went to a gym 5 days a week for 2-3 hours for a little over a year before school started up. All the fight posters drew me in, I had to know who these guys were. Ezzard Charles, Marciano, **** Tiger.. I had to know them and study them.
I originally came to the forums in search of outside-the-gym advice for training.
Also that I grew up going to Pacquiao fight parties since I was little introduced me to the sport.Comment

Family of Boxers. Grandmothers Father Boxed in the 20's and 30's. Grandfather boxed in the Army. Father was a boxer and did martial arts as well. Watched boxing from a young boy till the rip age I am at now. Boxed as an Amatuer but found good work. My grandfather and I would watch old fights from the 40's to the 70's. Personally love old fights more than new ones but I watch boxing more than I do anything else and have been told it's an obsession.Comment

i use to give my personal handicapps to the local sportsbooks here in norcal
in late '90s mid 2000. got tired of having to watch so many previous fights and all the reading.
find that with my previous learnings i'm able to "off the top of my head" pick winning bets just as good as spending hours doing homework. you gotta have the knack tho.Comment

I wanted to go pro, at 24 but didn't have the management, trainer retired (he was 60 when I started boxing in the gym) and Oregon isn't exactly the place to live for boxing. Contemplated a move to San Fran or LA but found a job working for the government...Comment
