Beat Canelo, tell Golovkin to kiss your ass and vacate the belt. Cotto has a better resume, a proven veteran who's put years of grind with plenty of PPVs and hall of fame bound Golovkin makes zero difference. The title for this thread is so missleading, I'm disappointed. Cotto didn't say anything about not wanting to fight the winner of GGG/Lem, nor did he hint that he wouldn't fight the winner. He basically said he's his own boss and nobody tells him what to do.

He's also full of shit because HBO told him to fight Canelo or he was done on that network. And look and see who he is fighting next? If HBO gives him the same ultimatum in regards to Golovkin, if he is to beat Canelo which is unlikely, he will have to take the fight or finish his contract with Roc Nation on BET - probably on Ward's undercard.

Cotto is in the same position as Mayweather. He can do whatever the hell he wants! If the WBC tries to force his hand against the GGG/Lemieux winner, the WBC will lose. truth be told though, he beats canelo, it's mayweather next because GGG isn't bringing that type of money to the table. mayweather would want that fight as well for a middleweight strap.
