Comments Thread For: Roach: Bring on Golovkin, He is Nothing Special!

New York - When it comes to the middleweight division, trainer Freddie Roach confidently says that he will put his fighter Miguel Cotto (40-4, 33 KO’s) against anyone. On November 21st, Cotto will defend his WBC middleweight titles against Saul "Canelo" Alvarez(45-1-1, 32 KO’s). Although Cotto is the middleweight champion and the more experienced fight, Canelo is more than a 2 to 1 favorite in sport books.

    In before the idiots!

No catchweight for a mandatory title defence unless BOTH sides agree.

boy, that will get the GGG fans up in arms. I'm a fan myself, but I understand the position and reason why he's not getting a shot. Others though, they will eat this up.

He is a good fighter....I don't think he will go down as an all time great....the Hall of fame is within reach if he beats Lemieux and cleans out 160...168 IDK...that weight class has too many toss up type fights and guys closer to his talent level like Chunky, Ward, Groves, and the Dirrell Bros....if he moves up and dominates too he may change my mind on him possibly becoming an ATG

Freddie Roach, "Mayweather is the best fighter in the world." Someone needs to tell that to a couple posters here.

Win or lose they wont face GGG.

Cotto at this point of his career where High Rewards lil Risk is the only thing that will seriously be on the table.

We really don't know what he is. We only have an idea. He appears to be a BEAST, but that has to be said with reluctance by anyone who follows boxing closely. But a casual who tunes into HBO twice a year and listens to Max and Jim drool about him probably thinks he's the 2nd coming of Christ.
