He already created a gym in Bolton though, an oprphanage in Gambia.... As for what that region has "done" for him, I believe giving him more love and props then his other own UK, should Count for something'I have made a promise to the nation that I will pay back what I have achieved in boxing'.
Honestly what has that region ever done for Amir in boxing besides making up his cultural heritage?
You learned your trade in a Bolton gym, came up through the British amateur program, had heaps of financial investments from British promoters/sponsors, received unwavering support from the British media and fans after Athens 2004, yet everytime I see this guy 'giving back' (which I partly admire, don't get me wrong) it's always in or surrounding Pakistan.
I don't get why places of 'political, ethnic and criminal violence' get these rewards also. I know there's kids growing up there who would be grateful for the way out but still. These kind of statements irk me a little.Comment

I think Khan's religion and roots played a role in not landing a Mayweather's money fight, unlike Judah who has never been good, and kept landing undeserved money fight, one after another.
but who cares, he is a champion and his fights always entertain, I don't remember Khan in a single boring fight, win or lose.
Keep the work up.Comment

He opened up a gym in Bolton, which is run by Joe Gallagher and is churning out champions.'I have made a promise to the nation that I will pay back what I have achieved in boxing'.

There is nothing wrong with Khan wanting to do the same over in Pakistan, its a good thing.
He also plans to open another one in the UK
You sound like Floyd when he insulted Africans, "what have Africans ever done for me"Comment

I'll be real with you I know very little about Hussain Shah and after doing some light reading on him he's lived an impressive life, *Mayweather voice* I take my hat off to him.hometown?
i am from uk mate....
my point is the guy won a bronze medal, without any help or sponsorship money, he was homeless at one point and he trained in the local park, he done all that and he won a bronze, maybe could have gone further if he had the use of a pro coach and a boxing gym back in 1988.
know one gives a **** about boxing in pakistan, if they did, india and pakistan could produce contenders.
But this isn't a rarity in boxing, lots of fighters are born from poverty and neglect. I'm not saying it's not special, but it's common place.
Also, the Indian subcontinent has a history of producing lackluster sports and athletics programs. Pakistan has some diversity in its sporting successes but India is AWFUL in comparison to its population, it's medals per capita in the Olympics is horrendous. Honestly that area just doesn't produce great athletes, all evidence shows it.Comment
