British boxer Amir Khan on Wednesday vowed to help Pakistan produce champion pugilists with a network of academies in his family's country of origin.

The former two-time world champion is currently touring the South Asian giant of 200 million people better known for its prowess in cricket, and plans to set up boxing schools in the western Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, eastern Punjab, and the southern city of Karachi.

'I have made a promise to the nation that I will pay back what I have achieved in boxing'.

Honestly what has that region ever done for Amir in boxing besides making up his cultural heritage?

You learned your trade in a Bolton gym, came up through the British amateur program, had heaps of financial investments from British promoters/sponsors, received unwavering support from the British media and fans after Athens 2004, yet everytime I see this guy 'giving back' (which I partly admire, don't get me wrong) it's always in or surrounding Pakistan.

I don't get why places of 'political, ethnic and criminal violence' get these rewards also. I know there's kids growing up there who would be grateful for the way out but still. These kind of statements irk me a little.

Why do you suppose there are so few Pakistan or Indian world champions, despite both countries having a large population?

Small heads, poor facial bone structure > glass jaws. Also boxing just isn't big there. They play cricket, nobody boxes there.

I'm not trying to be racist, BTW. I'm genuinely curious.

The first part is a highly moronic statement. The second part is correct though.
