The highlights are sad they show quite clearly how at his weight his punch was not only blindinly fast but also strong then as he moved up chasing butterflies it just looses that thumping effect. Without that and a trainer his knockout was inevitable.
No doubt about it. Gamboa had great speed, great combinations and great power in both hands. That was a real treat to watch. I don't think Khan even compares with him for throwing fast, accurate, effective combinations with crushing power. Gamboa never really lived up to his potential. If he was correctly managed and trained and matched at his best weight he should never have lost a fight.

For a heavywwight, Mike Tyson also had extremely fast hands. Thought I'd mention someone not mentioned.

If you factor in mechanics of the higher weight class (handspeed pfp so to say) it has to be Roy Jones.

Khan is definitely the fastest above lightweight, possibly the fastest of all time in any division, but some of the smaller guys are fast too. Gary Russell Jr for example.

You're an idiot. Calzaghe was quick, very quick no way you can deny that. Yes his punches were slaps, his record is shallow and he wasn't as effective with his speed as others etc, but that's not the question. He was clearly a lighting fast with his hands and that was the original question.
