Julio Cesar Chaves got Meldrick Taylor. I know people don't give Taylor too much credit now for some reason, but he was an absolute masterful boxer/puncher back then. People said he was the second coming of Ray Leonard.

Hopkins has Trinidad and Tarver. Even Pavlik was a top win, even though it was at LHW.

Kostya Tszuy I agree with, but even so he's not held in anywhere near the regard a Mayweather or Toney or those other guys you've mentioned are.
Graziano defintely wasn't a top win and I wouldn't say Armstrong was either. But there's no point going over Robinson's resume.

He has a point with Chavez though.

Hopkins has only Trinidad. Floyd has many wins comparable to Tarver and Pavlik.

    Tszyu Why even mention Tszyu?

Honestly, give me one good reason why any of Floyd's wins were better than a 91 Michael Nunn.
Losing a fight by a large margin before getting a KO in the 11th is better than outboxing your opponent and winning clear and easy?

Is kostya tsyzu not considered a top ten all time junior ww champion?

Taylor is no where near an all time great you know that

either they were a past time all time great or not great at all...so he has not beat any either(Robinson)

Gavilan was at his best in from 1950-1954...they fought in the 1940s....Gavilan went on a tear during the years I mentioned

Trinidad was not prime....prime means time, weight, and skills....he isn't an atg middleweight nor is Tarver close to great

But it was a cracking KO over a champion with an iron chin. Not A+ win, but still a good win. I also said when he wasn't totally over the hill - of course not the same as beating Armstrong at this best, but just before someone came and said Armstrong was shot which he wasn't.

There's a point, but Meldrick Taylor in my opinion was a top class win.

But he said those guys didn't have top wins? I wasn't comparing him to Floyd. Hopkins does have top wins, specifically Trinidad obviously. Just mentioned Tarver and Pavlik as top wins too - Not in the Nunn class obviously. And I agree Mayweather has many wins like that.

I didn't mention Tszuy, he did!

Tszuy shouldn't even be mentioned in this discussion, hence I'll let it be. Nobody considers him in the same stratosphere as a Mayweather, let alone a Sugar Ray Robinson.

I'm not saying he's an ATG, but Taylor was an awesome fighter at his absolute peak who Chavez beat. If he hadn't lost to Chavez who knows what would have happened.

Lol, Gavilan and Robinson fought in '48 & 49' or something like that.

Trinidad was prime and undefeated. There's absolutely no doubt he was in his prime.

That's not what I asked, I asked if it doesn't prove Nunn was a better fighter.

Which great fighter in their prime did Mayweather win clear and easy against?

Wasn't Armstrong rated #1 in the division at the time? I mean he definitely wasn't prime but it was still a solid win. EDIT: But I agree that we can spend days talking about the greatness of Ray Robinson's resume without ever really disagreeing. lol

Does he or does he not have a better resume than at least 5 fighters in the HOF?

Yes he was. But he was coming to the end of his prime.

No you said "Doesn't that just prove Nunn was a better win?"

The fact that he was losing and needed a KO to win actually takes away from the win, if Toney dominated it would have been a much better win, no?

Yeah because it proves Nunn was a better fighter?

what part is it you don't get?
