You could say the same thing about GGG who has he fought? GGG has the goods so does Cotto and its obvious how he has improved.

The opposite is true for Canelo, his competititon has progressively gotten worse since the Mayweather fight, not better and he only looked impressive because Kirkland has a glass jaw. And really at the end of the day Geale/Martinez are MUCH higher caliber of fighters than Kirkland and Angulo.

      Really?

That version of Martinez was not MUCH higher calibre than anyone. He was coming off a fight in which he was dropped multiple times and given a gift decision against Martin Murray.

Then there's Geale, who lost his title to Darren Barker, was flattened by Golovkin in 2 and found it hard to make weight.

Lara, that is a MUCH higher calibre fighter.

This is really just another example of boxingscene taking a quote out of context and turning it into a headline to generate readership/comments. Cotto definitely knows that Canelo has improved significantly since he fought Jose Cotto. If he doesn't know that, then he deserves to get knocked out (and I'm a Cotto fan).

Oh what a difference 5 years makes.. Not only is Canelo a better fighter but he can take a better punch too. If Cotto is banking on what his brother was able to do against a very Green very Young Canelo, then hes already a beaten fighter heading into the fight November 21..

Lara has never held a title, Geale was MW champ twice. Broken down Martinez is still double the fighter Angulo and Kirkland were, seriously how can you even debate this? In this era of millions of belts, you have to get at least one to be taken somewhat serious.

Not a good angle for Cotto to take since Manny beat him like a step child after only having 3 fights over 130

None of this means anything of course. Just a reason for fanboy to go to war. This fight is as 50/50 as it gets. Cotto is aged and sand that I think he'd beat canelo quite easily because canelo is a lesser skilled version of Cotto.

i don't think you can control your little buddies. i'm sayin ghtat you'll need to control them if you don't want me to make mention of their childish attitude toward cotto's status and handling after the martinez fight.
