And as I said earlier; you can look at HBO championship boxing purses dating back to 2013. They all hover around 1-2 million regardless of the draw. If it's outside USA or on ppv the figures differ. When both were on HBO Kovalev wasn't as big of draw as he is now while Stevenson was the one bringing in the ratings for the most part. No HBO championship boxing purse exceeds those values unless you are an exclusive fighter on the network. Even now with Kovalev he's not making over 1mill to headline cards in the USA, and needed pascal to make the Canadian money, not to mention one of duva reasons for exiting the purse had to do with the USA Russian and Canadian currency inflation. We can't fool ourselves. HBO isn't gonna guarantee a career high purse for either fighter, the only way that will is a purse bid. HBO had no issues fronting the money for Provo vs Lucas when it went to a network bid. They should be willing to back duva with enough funds to win this purse bid, or even lobby another network outside the USA to win it and sell the broadcast rights in the states to HBO.Comment

So PBC fighters are free to fight anywhere they want? Harmon guys are not exclusive to PBC and showtime?well this aint good for kovalev. they been playing the call the fighter out everyone hates to get fans game. stevenson wants to fight kovalev and hes dead serious about a purse bid. keep in mind hbo cant legally keep kovalev from entering a purse bid thats the whole idea behind purse bids it gets all the bs out of it and its for the fighters. Duva been talking about these russian billionires so lets do it duva. for god sake enter the purse bid.
all fans can pick sides blame the fighter they dont like i personally think they are both pieces of trash but its such a good potential fight and they aint getting any younger. but the reality is the only way this fight gets made is a purse bid period everything else is for the birds. all duva and hbo have to do is put up the money and whats the worst that could happen? if hbo gets out bid thats because the bid is huge and that means hbo duva and kovalev will all make money regardless.
I just dont see what the big deal is. these hbo exclusive deals are absolutely killing boxing. I think we can all agree hbo is probably the best as far as presentation and what not but their exclusive deals are absolutely killing potential fightsComment

I doubt they'd fight off a PBC/showtime platform, but I know duva carried an entire shobox card a few weeks back on showtime with just about all her fighters being featured in every bout.Comment

Again, Pascal and Kovalev split 6m. Pascal didn't bring a belt, and Kovalev profile has only grown, by trouncing Pascal before a sold out arena in Quebec. There's no question itd give Stevenson his best purse easily, with far bigger Canada Ppv and gate proceeds compared to this streak of scrubs he's been fightingAnd as I said earlier; you can look at HBO championship boxing purses dating back to 2013. It's been established that Kovalev is an HBO-exclusive, which has nothing to do with the rest of Duva's roster. As such, I assume that there shouldn't be any issue in Chilemba or Barrera fighting on PBC.Comment

and that furthers my point, the fight would generate more than what would be offered solely on one network with a purse bid. you have the two biggest players in one division, both looking to completely unify the division, one side wants to fight to be made for the most money which is why the purse bid is a option, the other side wants it done on the network their fighter is tied to, we DO NOT know what hbo is willing to offer each side but they we do know they didnt want to match one side's pending offer compared to what in their consistent budget would have been offered for the fight, if hbo were willing to make stevenson his career day, they would have made an offer in terms of $ much like duva did with beterbiev where they lay down the provisionals to what the fighters would be and the 50/50 split on the table. point blank, if HBO knows how important it is based on what you said, they could have easily entertained the bid, duva didnt, and then when they tried to reschedule it, she made it clear she wants no part of a highest bidder option, its her way, her fighters network, or no fight, no matter what the offer was.Again, Pascal and Kovalev split 6m.
