That's funny I could say this about any fighter in boxing past and present starting with my fav Ali and definitely sugar ray ...all fighters got a close nod at one point in their career ...Chavez sr vs Whitaker ., sugar ray ...vs hearns or hagler ...why no Aaron prior fight...checks first 55-65 fight were nobodies in Mexico ...fought 3 American black fighters beat roger but he was average ..my point is he stayed in his lane...my other fav mike Tyson fight majority bums but lost to great fighters in his level after taking years and years to make them .

Margs WW resume was suspect. Other than the hand wraps he was fighting unranked WW like Manuel Gomez back then. Then he lost to Williams and Williams lost to Quintana of all people. When Floyd stepped up to WW he targeted the Undispited WW champ, followed by the lineal WW champ. Even cotto wasn't fighting top tier WWs he was also fighting Quintana and his step up was Judah, after Judah had lost to Floyd.

Williams also stated that his people and Floyd's ppl were never in contact about a fight. And once Williams avenged his loss to Quintana he moved up and was stripped of his belt.

its funny how his detractors are trying to rewrite history....Mayweather first fought at 147 from 06-07 then he retired in December after he stopped Hatton


Up until Williams beat Margarito in july 07 he was a prospect...no wins over top ten competition....he brought nothing to the table at all....his resume was crap and it didn't help he got outboxed by Carlos Quintana in his very next fight in February 2008....so that killed his momentum, and he moved up to 154 before the year ended...that fight wasn't gonna happen


Margarito beat unranked ******* Gomez, Josh Clottey and IBF titleholder Kermit Cintron in 2006 the year that Mayweather entered the welterweight division....I saw when he called him out on the video....he was in route to a fight with Mayweather....then he loses to a prospect in Paul Williams 2007 killing any shot of landing the fight with Mayweather that fall or winter....Mayweather went on to fight Hatton instead, who is more accomplished.

There are several factors that determine the best ever and we may Never make that determination but this one thing I KNOW Mayweather Jr ain't it by a long shot!
