Comments Thread For: De La Hoya on Mayweather: He's Not TBE, I Beat Him!

Floyd beats him opponents easily sometimes lacking action and the fan favorite brawling style. So when an opponents wins a few rounds, the FANS and the fighters tend to think they won the entire fight. This only happens with Floyd and the fact that he is not liked by a lot of casual boxing fans. From a judging standpoint, he wins easily. Oscar lost, Maidana lost. Count the rounds, Floyd won both fights by at least 4 rounds.

I guess Fishnet DelaCoka is back on the horse again. Funny thing is this guy used to big boy Floyd when he was the man, wouldn't fight him or give him the time of day. Now he is begging for Floyd to even mention his name to help GBP get its name in the press.
Funny how things change.

The Mayorga KO gave a false impression of where Oscar really was at that stage of his career, he was not at the top his game anymore even if he wasn't shot. So that begs the question, what would have happened with a prime Oscar? I think that is really a tough fight to call.
I personally feel that Oscar and Pacquiao are Floyd's two best wins in terms of calibre of fighter at the time he fought them, but in both cases I would say they were both past their best.

seriously he was not the best version of himself in either fight...against Oscar he wasn't at his best weight, Oscar chose the ring size and gloves, and he was also 30 years old and many championship fights under his belt
Mayweather at his best in the early 2000's when he had all the skills he has today, coupled with being a supreme athlete, speed, power, reflexes, ring IQ, etc......Mayweathers record at 130-140(his best weights) was 34-0(24 kos) that's a 70% ko ratio
Mayweather just happens to be a great fighter that can compete with bogger guys because of his versatility, skill, and ring IQLast edited by therealpugilist; 08-25-2015, 08:01 AM.
