how come ppl dont pull a rocky on mayweather and start hitting shoulders

i mean we all know his defense the shoulder rolls so why not jus go for his shoulders and pound those for rounds and rounds if u cant get the body or face. i mean his arms will get tired from picking his hands up. and then his defense and handspeed will be thrown out the window. thats what rocky marciano did and he was very successful. ppl see the head and wanna attack it instead of thinking smart

Because Floyd consistently beats his foe to the punch.
Hit him in his shoulders five times, but eat one of his right hand counters......& you're losing the exchange, & will have more taken out of you.

becuase there was only one rocky marciano...

last guy i saw try and pull a marciano was jirov when he fought toney and we all know the outcome of that one.

if you want to just pound the **** out of a fighter like that until you beat his body so bad he drops his hands, then you will have to be willing to take a lot of punishment in return.

I don't know if anyone around has the combination of power and muscular endurance of the arms that Marciano had. The guy was known to hit a heavy bag for an hour straight at times, with no break (this was not his standard heavybag training but he'd do it once and awhile likely for the psychological benefits). For most boxers, even well conditioned ones, it would take a lot out of their punches to pull off a sustained arm and shoulder attack.

You have to be able to hit very hard very frequently for several rounds, without tiring, for the arm and shoulder attack to have the full effect. Otherwise your arms are just as tired as the arms of the guy you're hitting!

well, ive seen Augustus do that....he got countered alot.
Also you waste energy by only hitting their arms, unless you're George Foreman or Rocky when you've litterally broken their arm by a punch lol.

People rarely talk about it, and I think it's one of Floyd's most underrated assets...and that is his chin, and physical endurance for pain. The guy's chin is made out of granite, and his body is solid as a rock.

We could simply go back and watch tape of all his fights, and you'd notice how tough he is. When he does get hit clean, he shakes it right off.....alot of boxer punchers developed a style around not getting hit, because they can't take it on the chin or body.

Floyd doesn't want any uncessesary punishment but he sure can take it about as well as the next guy. I don't think hitting him on the shoulders would do a damn thing except leave someone open for a clean uppercut countershot.
