The purse bid is basically networks bidding to broadcast the fight and the highest bidder gets to broadcast the fight and give the fighters the respective purses, and of course a fight of this magnitude would be a PPV fight even if it was on PBC.

Duva and her ties to HBO is a major roadblock and because of this the offer is not really open cuz the 2 sides can't agree on a network, which is the most important thing, if Kovalev and his team were dying to make the fight like they claim, they woulda taken the purse bid and told HBO to go screw themselves if they can't pay the fighters good enough, which should be Duva's main goal, getting her fighter the biggest fights and most money, not keeping her relationship with a certain network.

Same **** happened during the Mayweather vs Pacquiao situation, in 2012 before Pacquiao fought Bradley, his contract with Arum was about to run out and Mayweather offered him to sign with Mayweather promotions or Golden Boy and the fight could've been made in a second, talks between Koncz and Mayweather's team also took place at that time, and if Pacquiao's team were really dying to make the fight they would've taken that offer, at the end of the day, a cut was gonna get taken from Pacquiao purse if he was with Arum or with Golden Boy or Mayweather promotions, but apparently they didn't want the fight as bad as they said they did.

Duva and Kovalev obviously thought that the overall financial benefits of staying HBO exclusive were better than what Kovalev would have got for one fight with Stevenson on PBC or ST.

Nobody knows what he is getting for staying with HBO, but they must have given him a very good deal.

Stevenson is a clown and the BIGGEST joke in boxing right now. He had a deal to fight Kovalev then signed to Haymon and it's been drama getting him a meaningful fight since. Do people remember his first excuse for backing out the fight with Kovalev? I do it was I am trying to fight Hopkins because there is more money in that fight then Kovalev. But Haymon played games with Hopkins and never agreed to the fight. And Hopkins at that time had no contract with HBO so he can't use that excuse. So he hasn't fought Hopkins, Kovalev or Pascal. Meanwhile all those guys fighting each other. But sure listen to this idiot Stevenson it's all Duva's fault? Or HBO's fault. Seems to me Stevenson had the ability to fight anyone UNTIL he signed with Haymon. Hell he aint even trying to fight Beterbiev and he's another Haymon fighter. Didn't Kolavev do the exact same thing when the WBC gave the order for the purse bid he ran behind HBO to fight Mohammedi( I know it's he's mandatory but still).
